On a Spring day in the big apple I found myself in the Chelsea area and decided to have brunch at Cafeteria. The ambience gives an upscale diner with lots of space on the inside and outside. The host was warm and friendly as he led me and my friends to our table which was situated in the patio. With loads of sunlight and that unrepentant NYC noise, it was the perfect pair for a brunch day.I ordered the Shaved Prime Rib sandwich which was absolutely delicious especially with the sauce that came with it. I was also able to modify my order to come with truffle fries instead of the regular fries. I did not order for a drink as I had drank a lot the previous night. So I just had sparkling water. The chef later came out to say hello to my friends and I, he’s a gracious gentleman from Senegal. All in all it was a great experience. If you’re looking for somewhere chill with some vibrance to it, this is your place!

I came here 7 years ago. This place still has amazing food. We sat in the covered porch area, which I thought would be cold but it’s a really nice set up and plenty of heat lamps. It was quieter too.The bistro burger was delicious and huge. Truffle fries were only $1 extra. The deviled eggs were only okay. The yellow part was kind of chalky and lacked flavor. The dessert was amazing! $14 completely worth it. Red velvet deviled dogs, super moist and covered in dark chocolate which made it have a nice crunch. Tasted like they were home made and the vanilla shake with it was delicious and a great pairing. We were not rushed at all and our waiter was very good and made sure no food we ordered had anything my friend is allergic too. It was great, we had ample time to catch up. $50 a person for the amount of food we got and its quality was very good.

I come here very often, I’ve been coming here for years. But this one time that I’ve came, I believe I experienced racism or stereotyping. I hate to be that person, but everyone around me that was white, was getting catered to, and I was not. I look Hispanic although I’m mixed, and ironically my waiter was Hispanic, but he paid me no mind, I did not get greeted, I had to look for him to pay the check. The manager was nice, she was Brown skin and seemed to care about me, she ended up having to take my order. Weird and not a usual experience at this place.

My company chose Cafeteria for our team meeting, and it was an easy, wonderful experience! Diana was wonderful to work with during the planning process, and Nick and his team were attentive, professional, and truly lovely throughout the service. The food was delicious and the kitchen was able to thoughtfully accommodate all of the dietary needs within the group. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I look forward to going back to Cafeteria when we are next in NYC!Vegetarian options: There are many options for vegetarians and some for vegans on the general menu. We had group-service, and there were fewer options on that menu, but the restaurant was able to plan some vegan entrees for the vegan individual in our group, so everyone was accommodated.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant requested restrictions ahead of time, and made accommodations for vegan guests despite the rest of our menu being non-vegan. They were also wonderful when a team member didn't mention until the start of the event that they had an allergy. Everyone left satisfied, regardless of their dietary restrictions.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is fairly small and not automated, and while I only saw the private room's restroom, it did not look like an accessible restroom. There are no stairs, so perhaps if someone has a smaller wheelchair and someone available to open the door, they may be OK.

I had a great time at Cafeteria in NYC. It's a cool spot that makes classic American dishes feel new and fancy. The place feels welcoming and stylish, perfect for any time of day. The dishes we ordered were amazing, and the whole menu is full of tasty choices. The vibe is lively, and the food is top-notch. Definitely a must-try place in the city.

Enjoyed dinner here last night with my friend- we were SO happy with our choice! I hadn't been here in years so I forgot how FAB this place is. We ordered Herbed Fries AND Chickpea Fries (because why not?) + Cobb Salad with Grilled Salmon for me and Spare Ribs for my pal: DELICIOUS! And the Bread Pudding for dessert was worth the calories. Devon was our server and he was attentive and wonderful. Eating dinner was made even better by the 1990s/early 2000s music: C + C Music Factory, Madonna, and Janet Jackson. Thank you to your wonderful staff and detail- oriented manager for a memorable evening!

My friend and I came here yesterday for her birthday and we will never come back. I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the lemon ricotta pancakes. The chicken was really good and the waffle was so so. When I took a bite into the pancakes they were a little dry for me. I mentioned that to the waiter and the waiter got the manager. The manager came to our table and basically argued with me as to why I wouldn’t be able to get the pancakes taken off the bill. She said that I wouldn’t get it off the bill because the waiter asked us how everything was and we answered okay.Yes, we answered okay but at the time I was eating my chicken and waffles. Then she proceeded to say because the pancakes were sitting for awhile they became dry which is the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard. I explained to her that our waiter took a long time to come back to the table. So my only option was to have the kitchen make me more pancakes which I didn’t want because if they were dry the first time they will be dry again and I didn’t have time to wait. The pancakes were $17 which isn’t a biggie but I was more annoyed at the fact that the manager already had it made up in her mind how the outcome was going to come out. I ended up paying for something I didn’t even eat.I’m really big on customer service and how establishments handle a unsatisfied customer and they failed.

The fried chicken sandwich is so so delicious. The fries, not so much after cold but I still finished it anyway because who doesnt like fries eh. The vibe is always fashionable and lively. My husband and friend also like their order and we had a joyous brunch.

This is still a great late night eatery after a night out in NYC. Now, it's not as flamboyant or pretentious. But it still has an attitude. Food on the pricier side, but you'll feel satiated as it does taste better than most late night eateries. They used to have a downstairs lounge, and anything could happen there at one time. While the days and years have come and gone, if you're lucky enough to get a late night table, there's a chance your late night dish may be unforgettable. It all depends on how entertaining the next table may be? Go and be satisfied.

Pretty popular place. Great spot to enjoy a meal and socialize. Decor is simple but current. Clean classy look. The food is great. My go to are the Chicken and Waffles. Absolute home run. The chicken is fried just right with the inside remaining tender and juicy. The waffles are fluffy, not overly dense. Whenever we've gone, we've received nothing but top tier service. The staff has been welcoming even in the busier days. Personable and attentive is how I'd describe everyone we've been attended to by. Will continue to stop by when in the area.
