Very unorganized. Very loud. We booked a reservation on Resy and was told the reservation was outside in 12 degree weather and they literally sat us outside when our reservation was specifically indoors. They couldn't accommodate us by sitting us inside and told us we had to leave on their last day of business. Now I see why their closing.

Closing for hood 1/23/2022 ;(( I will miss the unlimited sangria

The absolute worst service I've ever had. Bland food, Water glasses left empty, and what was supposed to be unlimited sangria, we had one glass for over an hour. Only when we flagged a person down, was our order taken by the manager who had an immediate attitude and rushed at the very beginning. We were never told who was our waiter the entire time we were there. Fast forward 60 mins later, I go to the hostess to ask who is our waiter and if we could get another sangria and water. 20 minutes later, we finally got our drink. At this point, we immediately ask to speak to a manager and get the check. We called the manager over and he immediately dismissed and disrespected us, cursed at us and told us, mind you that we were 2 black men, that he was closing due to people like us. This man just assumed that 2 black men were immediately trying to scam him, when all we wanted was our check and to leave this place. Please don't visit this establishment if this is how they expect to treat people. Racist values on full display. Good think they will only be operating one more week until they close. Glad others want be subjected to their racist and disrespectful treatment.

I've been dining at Calle Ocho for years and not quite sure how I haven't reviewed one of my favorite brunch spots! Unfortunately Calle Ocho will be closing for good in the next week, so I had to make it here one last time. I've been rocking with the establishment since they were on 81st street near the Museum of Natural History - proud to be a long time patron. I've never had any complaints for any of the food...like seriously, never. The plus here is the sangria is unlimited for as long as you are enjoying your meal (of course within the set dining time). Im so happy to have experienced authentic and amazing food. Will miss it, and can't wait to try out their sister spot, Bodega 88.

Amazing place for brunch and unlimited drinks per person. They stop serving food at 3pm and unlimited drink at 4pm so make sure you didn't book reservation at 2:30 lol like we did

Came for a happy hour on a weekday. I arrived early to avoid the crowds. The restaurant was pretty much empty at 4:30 pm except for one other party. Upon checkin I was asked for my ID and vaccination card. The restaurant gave us three cheese balls withe a black bean sauce to get started. It was a nice touch, but I think I prefer my cheese balls a little chewier and cheesier than what I had. For drinks, I got the caipirinha. I thought the drink was sufficiently strong and also had a good dose of freshly squeezed lime juice. The for the empanadas I got the ropa vieja, unfortunately they couldn't do one flavor of each. The crust of the empanada was handmade but the beef was probably the star of the show, it was soft, flavorful and paired really well with the guac sauce that came with it. The chimichurri fries were one of my favorite bites, the fries were fried to crispy perfection and the chimichurri sauce gave an extra kick to what seems like a pretty normal looking fry. The pork sliders were ok, I probably wouldn't order them again. The bun to meat ratio was a little off, it felt like I was mostly eating a cold bun. I have to say though, that the pork in the slider was pretty well cooked, it was on the drier crispier side which is something that I prefer. Lastly, the esquites was good, it was a generous portion that was served and not super watered down. Overall, good experience, friendly staff. Food was good but not anything over the top.

Went here as part of the autumn tippler. Had a blackberry margarita, it was delicious! Amazing ambiance, very nicely decorated! Great happy hour and very nice hostess and bartenders! Look forward to returning!

The food is not bad, is just that I order a Ropa Vieja and I just didn't think it tasted like it. In my opinion it was missing flavor. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and beautiful. The staff was very attentive. I did like the mango mojito I had, was kind of weak and I'm a light weight.

Service was great. Food was delicious. Margarita was strong. I came during happy hour, the waitress had the best smile and made me feel really welcomed. I wish I had gotten her name. She was short, Latina, tats, lots of tats, and her hair was cornrows. I paced by this place all the time since I live close to it. Strangely, I never stopped by. They brought out this delicious cheesy bread, that I devoured in five seconds, then my food, which was black beans and rice( perfect protein) and of course my drink. I was full of the food. I wish I had could have stayed longer, but I had to make an appointment. I will be back to this restaurant.

I have been a fan and patron of Calle Ocho since it was on Columbus Avenue. The food remains delicious and the staff is stellar! I love everything on the menu but my faves are the arepa and shrimp appetizers along with the ropa vieja and salmon entrees. The drinks are fantastic too! This is my go to restaurant anytime I want a relaxing night out with delicious food. Also they have a great happy hour and live music a couple of nights a week.

Brunch at calle ocho left something to be desired. They're very strict on the amount of time you have for dining, but they aren't attentive enough to take our order in a timely fashion so you can thoroughly enjoy your meal and drinks in said time. The complimentary sangrias served were very watered down, lets just say I got full off liquid and not food because their portions are also quite small. The food itself was okay, I had Vaca Frita Al Caballo which could of used some more flavor. I also had the chimichurri fries which were a bit oily but good.

Literally the best brunch place in nyc. The food is divine, the drinks are amazing and strong, the staff is nice and they have a beautiful outdoor seating area. Highly recommend

I went in for a tippler drink but also ordered food. Amazing service. They gave us complimentary yuca bread with cheese with some red bean spread. It was so good. I somehow resisted to ask for more. My drunk was the blackberry jalapeño margarita and it was not strong not light but perfect for a Sunday evening. We got the taco platter for two. It's 37$ and is enough food actually. My favorite was the shrimp pineapple mango thing because I have never had it anywhere. The pork adobo was also pretty tasty. I didn't love the pulled chicken thing because I don't particularly like chicken but it was also beautifully flavored. The tacos are served with guac and cream cheese and some lettuce and jalapeño (I ofc asked for more). The people are really nice and the decor is fantastic. We are definitely going to be back for brunch
