Such a warm and lovely place. The service was extraordinary and the food was delicious. Looking forward to more visits to this fanatastic restaurant!
Wonderful experience from the delectable food to the beautiful ambience and great service. Highly recommend
Do it! Make a reservation- you won't regret it. Exceptional service and everything on the menu is outstanding- I rarely write reviews on Open Table but this place won my heart!
Excellent food! Sammy is always the best! We have been going there since it opened consistently good.
Just an amazing four course pre-fixe menu om New Year's Eve. Many more choices to select from for each course than the typical pre-fixe menu. All four courses were amazing. The prices are on the high side, but for special occasions, it is definitely worth it.
Wonderful food. Great service. Never rushed. Great ambience. Just a fantastic evening. Highly recommended. You will be very happy!!
My first time at Caravaggio, and definitely not my last! I visited with my Dad and we were so impressed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and the service was outstanding—everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The atmosphere is calming and lovely, making it a perfect spot for a date night or catching up with friends. I especially appreciated that it wasn’t loud—such a rare find!

This is our favorite restaurant in New York City by far. When we visit the city, we often dine here twice it is that good. Each time we visit New York City, this restaurant is such a great experience that it is often among the favorite experiences of our trips here. I highly recommend!
Superb service, with special accommodations for food sensitivities and individual tastes, special touch for a birthday celebration and excellent food.
Overall it was a fair experience. Some hits and misses on the food. Very good starters and lots of variety, but my plate (veal) was nothing extraordinary. While the ambiance is quite welcoming and elegant, the main server execution was subpar... extremely/painfully slow and by times he basically forgot about our table. I had to call him or remind him at least three times of basic things like bringing a menu. Again the place is very cosy but it was disappointing to see that level of inconsistency in the main server (sommelier and bus staff were great).

I don't care if you have the money, $38 for an artichoke soup is too much unless you have a Michelin star (it was a special, and there were no other soups on the menu to get an idea of cost). I expected a pricey cocktail, but $70 (before tip) is ridiculous for a cocktail and a soup - even with the bread. 2 stars taken off for that unpleasant surprise.

This was the best overall dining experience I have ever had. From seating to exit the front of house staff all seemed invested in giving us a great experience. The waitstaff was charming, friendly, and treated us as family. Our drinks never got close to empty and the food (the important part) was all delicious. We only do meals in this price range once or twice a year but I would jump at the opportunity to return to Caravaggio anytime.

I put my card down for a reservation, i showed up for my reservation and had a pleasant meal with my parents. My parents picked up the check and we left. Fast forward 2 weeks and I get a $400 charge on my credit card from this place. I was not even in the city at the time of this charge? DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!!
I had high hopes. The specials were shared with us, but not the prices... so when someone in the party ordered the truffle pasta, they were informed it was $150. I would say that was an error on the waiters' part, as if there is a dish that is a significant upcharge to what the cost range of entrees are, they should mention it upfront. In addition, the appetizers were incredible but the entrees were bland - we ordered the squid ink pasta with four kinds of fish and the lemon risotto. The squid ink pasta dishes was overcooked (and the fish sauce was quite unappealing), and the lemon risotto was more milanese than lemon. For the price of that dinner (over $300 for 2 people), I'm very disappointed. I will say the restaurant ambience was beautiful and the service was impeccable. Unfortunately, I won't be going back because the food was expensive and uninteresting.
We always have a wonderful experience. The food was excellent the service is always friendly and warm.
