Every aspect of our visit completely surpassed what I had anticipated. The flavors on the plate were vibrant and thoughtfully composed, the service attentive yet effortless, and the ambiance instantly inviting. There’s something about the compact space that adds a sense of warmth and intimacy, making the meal feel personal and special.

I had heard a range of opinions before coming—some suggesting it might be overhyped—but my experience proved otherwise. Every detail, from the careful plating to the genuine hospitality, felt deliberate and high-quality. It’s rare to encounter a spot where everything aligns so seamlessly: the environment, the food, and the people creating it.

Walking out, I felt genuinely impressed and grateful for the experience. It’s one of those places where the buzz is entirely justified, leaving you eager to return and see what new delights await.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Carbone, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.

The level of service was truly outstanding. The team was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every detail on the menu, and genuinely committed to creating a memorable evening. Everyone was very welcoming and professional from start to finish.

The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the experience — from the pacing of the courses to the presentation of each dish. The food itself was remarkable: beautifully executed, rich in flavor, and clearly prepared with high-quality ingredients. Each dish felt thoughtfully crafted and perfectly balanced.

What stood out most was the overall sense of hospitality. The atmosphere, service, and cuisine all worked seamlessly together to create not just a dinner, but a truly special night out.

Carbone delivers excellence at every level, and I look forward to returning. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an elevated and unforgettable dining experience.

Carbone New York was outstanding — full 5 stars! The food was fantastic: perfectly executed spicy rigatoni vodka, veal parmesan, tableside Caesar salad, and the best garlic bread. Rich, flavorful, and generous portions.
Service was strong — professional, attentive staff who kept things smooth and fun. Atmosphere is retro-chic: cozy booths, warm lighting, old-school Italian-American charm with a lively buzz.
Great spot for a special night out in the Village. Highly recommend!

Carbone is an excellent restaurant serving bold, delicious plates of Italian-American classics. My wife and I ventured off to Carbone after securing a table through a good friend — and the house was packed, rightfully so.
I’ve read mixed reviews, and while I respect differing perspectives, our experience spoke for itself. From the moment we sat down, everything clicked. The food delivered across the board — appetizers, drinks, entrées, and desserts — not a single miss.
What truly elevated the evening was the attentiveness and polish of the service. The room had energy, the pacing felt right, and the experience flowed naturally from start to finish.
Carbone delivers on food, atmosphere, and execution. We absolutely enjoyed our evening and would gladly return.

Yes, the meal is expensive. Yes, the reservation is hard to get. Yes, its a bit cramped. Still, hard not to love.

The thing about Carbonne is that it really is a fun and tasty dining experience. The food is great, the service is among the best in NY, and the vibe is fun.

I highly recommend sharing as all of the food is interesting and delicious.

Great atmosphere , obviously with the reputation it has. Food was a mix. The tortellini was 10 out of 10. Everything was nice but not outstanding. And for the price you're paying you would expect outstanding. The service wasn't the best as it felt like they were trying to rush you out the restaurant. However, the guy did give very in detail knowledge about the menu and the restaurant.

Carbone absolutely lives up to the hype. The spicy rigatoni is perfect—rich, decadent sauce with just the right kick. The chicken Massimo was surprisingly good: sweet, beautifully charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and finished with a deliciously creamy sauce. It came with shallots which were cooked perfectly!

The baked clams were excellent (loved that you can substitute bacon for breadcrumbs), and the Caesar salad was a generous portion made tableside with anchovies—classic and delicious. The bread was good with a solid assortment and one that was cheesy and a bit oily. There was no fresh mozzarella available that day, but they made up for it with olive oil and pickled cauliflower.

Some folks say the place is cramped, but we were seated at a round table so we thought it was more than enough space for us to enjoy a nice meal.

Finished with a delicious raspberry sorbet, which was solid. Overall, a flawless meal and a true 10/10 experience. Would absolutely return.

Great American Italian food spot with impeccable service and tasty entrees/pasta.

You HAVE to get the pork chops and the tortellini. Both were great. The spicy rig and veal parm were close seconds.

Carbone is pure NYC magic. The spicy rigatoni vodka is iconic for a reason, the veal parm is perfection, and every dish feels indulgent and unforgettable. The vibe is old-school glam with a modern edge, the cocktails are flawless, and the service makes you feel like a VIP. Always worth the hype—and worth every bite.

Liked the baked clams, and lemon cheesecake. Carrot cake was awful. Italian pasta was fine. Cute place for a date, nice atmosphere.
