I love Carbone, I have been twice and the food is exquisite. From the service, the appetizers, the cocktails, the main course. I think is fantastic. The meatballs are really good, the spicy rigatoni also really good. The Caesar salad is also really good. Not a fan of the lasagna but that may be because I personally don’t love lasagna. Octopus really good as well. The pictures are a combination from both times I went.
Get the Spicey Rigatoni Vodka and the veal parm, is what the internet said to do. The internet was right. We got a lunch reservation and split these two. The salami and mozzarella to start was great. The staff was super friendly. Can’t wait to be back in NYC to go again. Also the Bourbon list is solid with old rip Van Winkle at 55 a pour is a steal.
Carbone is seriously overrated. If you believe this is the best Italian food you’ve ever had, I genuinely feel sorry for you. The complimentary mozzarella, salami, and garlic bread were fresh—probably the best part of the meal. I also enjoyed the assorted baked clams, and the corn tartufato was sweet, creamy, and rich.
The Caesar salad was just okay. I was a bit perplexed by the massive anchovies and the large, rock-hard croutons.
