Great place in Hell's Kitchen, due west of Radio City Music Hall on West 51st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues. All of the food was very tasty.
Holy goodness, The food was fantastic, but the service was better. Our kids were treated better than anything, a glow cube... Greatest place ever¡!Kid-friendliness: Awesome

A great variety of well seasoned food. The portions were pretty large. The atmosphere is nice for a date or just to hang out with friends. I think they have two levels. Our large group ate downstairs. I would recommend the chicken enchiladas and the shrimp Po’ Boy.
This was hands down my favorite place in NYC. The decor is beautiful, the staff are wonderful, the music fits the vibe and energy perfectly. 5 stars to all of that and the food is perfection.
I hate leaving bad reviews but in this case I felt compelled after paying almost $100 for a party of two and experiencing the most subpar culinary experience in my life thus far.Disclaimer, I have no issues with the service or overall dining atmosphere. I just feel mislead by the high rating reviews on this page and felt the need to provide an unbiased perspective that I did not see in the reviews. (Which apparently can be explained by the restaurant offering a free margarita in exchange for a review)Thus, I would like to state that it was truly the terrible taste of the food that drove me to the review section. Obviously not all of the food was bad- the guacamole and fries were good and probably the best items on the menu. (but this feels like a pretty low bar for any restaurant)However, anything that requires a component of the dish to be fried I would not recommend. (for example, dishes like fish and shrimp tacos or sandwiches which require battered products to be deep fried in oil). The fish tacos looked extremely disappointing, were hard to chew, and were presented in a deep brown color (likely from reusing the oil over and over). They were also not fresh at all, and had a very strong aftertaste. Similarly can be said for the fried shrimp texture.Ultimately, I hope the restaurant sees this review and uses better ingredients and oil quality- but please beware if you are considering dining here as there are so many better alternatives down the street and on 9th ave.

Don’t eat here. Literally was pushed out of the restaurant after we had dinner. Manager pushed my chair and wiped table over and in front of me and fellow guests. If you want to feel nauseous about how dark and cold hospitality staff could be, come here. Never again!
We stopped in for dinner before seeing a show. We were hosting a friend who hardly comes into Manhattan. We chose Carla for its off the beaten path location and laid back ambience. Our waiter (and the whole restaurant!) were so inviting. The great service + food added to the great company.

Food was delicious and served fast. We had shrimp tacos, the land and sea burrito, a corn and shrimp salad and the jambalaya. All four dishes were good. Fair prices as well. Will definitely be back.
