We’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times—it’s just a 5-minute walk from us—and we usually sit at the bar with our small service dog without any issues.
Today, on March 16th, we decided to try dinner. The host saw us with our dog and offered us a nice corner table. We ordered drinks and appetizers, then for dinner, we got steak and sea bass. The sea bass was excellent, but the steak was overly salty, so we asked to have it replaced.
At that point, the manager came over and told us to put our dog on the floor. I was unhappy because: 1. You saw the dog when we arrived. If there was an issue, you should have told us right away that the dog had to be on the floor. 2. Why did you only come to us after we asked to change the steak? Where were you 50 minutes ago when we first got here?
Very disappointed. In FiDi, the best restaurant for service animals is Harry’s—they have much more flexible policies.
Everything was amazing!! The place is gorgeous on the inside. Our server Ioana was the absolute sweetest and so helpful in recommending us dishes and pairings we would like, I love sweet cocktails and she recommended the alpino and i absolutely loved it. The lamb was cooked so perfectly it almost melts in your mouth. My cousin had the filet minon and was over the moon about it. We were so full from the entree and apps we didn’t plan on getting dessert until they sent over the chocolate cake and wow it was amazing. I will definitely be here again soon. Thank you again to Ioana, Victor, the host team and the amazing bussers we had for making our night special.

We had the pleasure of dining at Carne Mare. From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming and their attention to detail was impeccable. The highlight of the meal was the Milanese cowboy veal, perfectly cooked alongside creamy spinach and twice baked potatoe. Outstanding food and excellent service. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!
For a chophouse, their vegetarian options are surprisingly good. Don’t worry about joining your meat-eating friends here. Fabulous place ✨

I’ve dined here regularly and always enjoyed the lobster spaghetti—it’s one of my favorites. However, I was extremely disappointed when trying to place a takeout order for Lunar New Year. I was told that online ordering wasn’t available and that I had to physically wait at the bar to place an order—no exceptions. This lack of flexibility and customer service is frustrating and frankly, makes no sense. It’s a shame because I’ve been a loyal customer, but this experience has lost my business.

I took a Date to Carne Mare, discovering the Restaurant by accident after taken photos on Pier17. And let me just say I probably had the Best Steak in NYC. A 12 oz. gorgonzola encrusted strip lion with a side of Broccollini. She had the filet mignon with Foie Gras & Truffle Sauce (which looked as good as it tasted)...The Service was great and the Drinks were strong!! And let me not forget the 17 layer Chocolate Cake we had for dessert!! I would Highly Recommend this Restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal with a great atmosphere... And the pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge & Skyline were just breath taking as the food!
