I had such a great experience at Carnegie Diner on 8th Avenue. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the food comes out fresh and delicious. I tried the omelet and a side of avocado toast — both excellent. What really stood out was the attentive service. They make you feel at home even when it’s busy. Definitely recommend it for a casual meal near Times Square.”
Delicious food, fast service, and friendly staff. Highly recommended
looks like they have great sandwiches and desserts... I would definitely check it out.
I ordered the avocado toast on whole grain bread and was disappointed in the bread and avocado which was more like the guacamole you can purchase in the grocery pre-made. Having said that, we were a large party of 8 people and everyone else was very happy with their meals. I recommend trying for yourself.

Carnegie Diner is one of those places you walk into once and immediately want to return to. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food is spot-on every time. The pancakes are fluffy, the burgers are cooked perfectly, and the coffee alone is worth the visit. It’s rare to find a diner that feels both cozy and consistent—Carnegie nails it.

Carnegie Diner has quickly become one of my go-to spots in the city. The atmosphere is lively without being chaotic, and you can tell the staff genuinely care about their guests. I tried the avocado toast and a latte this time—both were excellent—and on a previous visit I had their lobster mac & cheese, which was surprisingly rich and flavorful for a diner. It’s rare to find a place that works just as well for brunch with friends as it does for a late-night bite, but Carnegie pulls it off. Highly recommend.

Dinner at 8th Ave? Overpriced - yes. Touristy - definitely. But the steak and eggs? Absolutely worth it. Despite the cost and the crowd, they’re some of the best you’ll find, cooked perfectly and served hot. If you’re in the area and want a classic New York experience, it’s worth stopping in at least once.

Solid location and atmosphere for a tourist area, you are going here because of the convenient tourist location. Food was good, traditional NY/NJ diner menu.

Food was mediocre under any conditions but their prices?! Stupid expensive. Guessing the name brings people in. Nothing like the original.
