Delicious food. Good ambience
Good prices.
30yrs ago my college friend hooked me onto the Strawberry Shortcake. We would frequently buy it for birthdays & other celebrations throughout those 30 yrs. Ppl always asked where we got the cake from & raved about it. It’s been about a year or 2 since I last was in the area to purchased the cake. So when I found myself in the area on Tuesday, I stopped at Carrot Top, I requested a Medium size cake & I asked them to cut the cake in slices. They refused to. “We can’t cut the cakes”. Which I found really weird. I mean it’s a cake. What would they be liable for? When I tasted the cake I was highly disappointed. It did not taste the same. It was bland & the icing did not look to have the consistency it always did. It was way toooo sweet and left an after taste that I had not experienced when having eaten it in the past. I shared the cake w/friends that have tasted it before and they were surprised this was the same cake we buy from Carrot Top. I ended up having a lot left because of that, I took it home put the cake in a container and put it into the fridge. 2 days later I took it out to have a piece. It was worse, The cake was hard the strawberries on top were bad even the sweetness did not help camouflage what was going on there. Idk what happened in the last 2yrs. They must have a new baker or that cake was not fresh. Cause I like to enjoy this cake so I would always portion it out at the very least for a week. And I had to throw it out after 2 days!! Ugh.
I walked in looking at the cakes & cookies had a slice of coconut cake it was so delicious 🎂👍
Excellent carrot cake
Always love this place.if youlove carrot cakes....check this place out
BUDDY. The cupcake was dry and the cookie? If you spit it out, it’s like you’re spitting out gravel. Hard, stale, not good. Been wanting to try them out for the longest but the cookie and cupcake I got from here were disappointing. Service was great and they have a hot food menu that might be better but the pastries sitting enticingly in their display? A damn lie.
The lady at the counter not welcoming at all !!

The greatest place on earth. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I was born and raised in the neighborhood (Washington Heights) and I now find myself crossing the GWB & paying the toll just to get a sweet treat (Carrot Cake slice) from this bakery.

Very nice pastry/a restaurant. Came here for some coffee and a pastry decided to try the carrot muffin cause it’s the most popular pastry. The service was excellent and it was a really cold Saturday morning so of course it was nice and warm and the lighting was very nice and I would definitely recommend you go there. They have nice selection of cakes, town, Italian cookies and assortment of sliced cakes and assortment of cupcakes miscellaneouscookies and of course the pastries. Another go to in Hamilton Heights.

Horrendous, inedible old pastries. Sandwiches made with inferior cardboard like texture, and insipid taste disguised with chemical laden dressing, mushy and wilted vegetables and bread.
Third world customer service. Ended up wasting my money and remained hungry.
Unfortunately, I paid in cash and was at the mercy of the establishment which refused to retify the food or return my money.
I do not recommend it!
You'd be better off in a place with decent service and food. The pastries were so hard that even a knife couldn't cut them. They were old, smelly and bad tasting. Yuck!

Purchased a french toast with egg and cheese with my partner. I wanted to take a picture of the food, but it was too late. Not only were we hungry, the food was AMAZING. The bread should be bigger because of how incredible it was. Definitely would recommend. Sit down and enjoy the meal if you have the time, the seating is very cozy and feels homey.
