The food was amazing, same for the waitstaff. The airconditioning is one quite loud tho, resulting in a loud wind.

This spot bills itself as authentic and high quality, but I found the cuisine to be bland and incredibly overpriced. The local Mexican fare in my city (Aurora, CO) is leagues ahead and less than half the price. Skip this spot unless you are curious as to what passes for "up-scale authentic Mexican" in New York.

Very authentic Mexican food, especially the mole which is really hard to get just right. Great brunch options - had the mole enchiladas, salsa verde enchiladas, guacamole, and corn pancakes. All delicious. Don’t expect basic Tex Mex food.

Drinks were delicious with generous portions. Service was very attentive. Loved the bohemian ambience.

As my boyfriend is Mexican, I am constantly on the hunt for good date night places that will remind him of the authentic flavours of home, so I was delighted to "discover" Casa Carmen, for his recent birthdate. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious & the service was top-notch.I had the guava frozen margarita—which, to my surprise, actually tasted of guava; guava is such a subtle flavour & I am often disappointed by its presentation in cocktails, but not this time—the guacamole, the enmoladas Xico & the pastel de elote &, while everything was top-notch, I can't say enough about the pastel de elote! This is going to sound weird, but if you're a fan of sparkling water—I consider myself a bit of a sparking water sommelier—the B'ui is not to be missed; it's one of the best I've ever had.

Vegetarian options: I'm not a particularly picky vegetarian (in that, if IDK that it has animal products in it, I ain't gonna ask), but it looks like they've about 6 starters & three entrees that are vegetarian.

Good mole dishes. Refried beans are delicious. The desserts are meh. Pricey.

We finally came to try Casa Carmen, we were hoping for a nice Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint. So delicious, guacamole with the perfectly crispy chips, the ceviche, tacos and emole... all so tasty. The hot sauce was so absolutely out of this world!
