This restaurant is closed, I asked a neighboring business and said they have been closed for a while, so don't waste your time and come. I gave it one star because we were so hungry a came to find the restaurant has closed down.

The worst thing about this place is not the food, but the contempt for their own roots, and profound hatred for the poor, those who have fallen behind. They received today the very face to such hatred and reason for the current migration crisis.

Ok margs but the service is far from being great. Pretty disappointing I must say especially for a person that loves mexican restaurants.

My recent visit to Casa Mezcal was highly disappointing due to clear overcharging, which felt like a scam. My friend and I split the bill; we ordered two cocktails (advertised at $16 each) and a White Claw ($10) for a friend. Shockingly, our bill came to $41.24 each and were prompted to tip. After realizing how expensive that was, we requested an itemized receipt, & discovered we were wrongly charged: cocktails were billed at $18 each, with an extra added, and a hidden 20% gratuity was included. With our additional $14 tips on top of that, the experience seemed like a blatant scam, especially with the misleading conduct of our server, Fernando C. The incident felt like fraud and left us feeling cheated. I strongly recommend others to stay away from Casa Mezcal to avoid similar experiences.Edited: I stated a white claw, but you're correct, we ordered some type of hard seltzer I can't remember, our receipt says a beer anyways. But it doesn't change the fact we were up charged, charged for an extra drink, and maliciously charged a 20% gratuity.

To be honest, the food was extremely bland and tasteless. The rice and beans had no flavor -- I don't even know how that is possible. NONE of our food was slightly warm. It was all room temperature. We got the Tinga de Pollo, and an array of tacos. It's almost as if the chef doesn't even know that salt exists. Drinks were good. Maybe if we were drunker we would've accepted the quality of food.

Excellent food and wonderful drinks as always. Only complaint was that our food order came out one dish at a time instead of all at once. By the time our guests received their main course ours was getting cold because of the delay.

When my family and I came to this restaurant on new years eve, we were not aware that there was a prefixed menu that that we could only order from for new years. It was $55 per person, and there were 5 of us. We all ordered from the 3 course mea menu, which only had 3 options per section. We all ordered the 12oz steaks with white rice. But when the meal came, the steaks were maybe half the size and it came luke warm, which is a generous description. Before we finished our main course, they brought out the dessert and placed it on our tiny table. Then when we asked for the check, it took them almost 20 mintues just to grab it. Plus they didn't have any heat on the top floor, which is where we were seated. Overall, terrible experience.

The prices here are jokingly high for mediocre food and small portions. Service is good. Go to Rosa Mexicana instead, the food is much better, with larger portions for similar prices. The guac at Casa wasn't anywhere near as good and was a much smaller portion.
