Quality sandwich from the daily carving board here at CMNY. Had a nice medium flank steak perfectly seasoned and sliced on a hero with avocado, pepper jack, and chipotle mayo. Taste was great, price not crazy for NYC at $14. Would return and try another sandwich for sure. Only had a few minutes before my train and they were quick no stressful waiting.

Short version: below average sandwiches at above average prices.

If you need to catch a train – which given Central Market’s location in Grand Central Terminal is a high probability – then CM is a generally safe bet.

There’s a standard selection of pre-made and made-to-order items, and while they’re nothing you’d rave or even talk about and maybe not even mention to your friends, it’s predictable and consistent and you know what you’re getting.

Prices? Way more than you should pay for food of this quality, but what do you expect at one of the country’s premier train terminals? (Besides much better quality food.)

And as long as GCT isn’t flooded with tourists or event-goers (Knicks, Mets, Rangers, concerts, tree lightings, etc.) the service is responsive enough to not trigger a train departure panic attack.

Is it my first place to grab a bite? Nope. But if I’m cutting-it-close short on time and need food, it hasn’t let me down, yet.

I was disappointed to learn this morning that the avocado toast is no longer on the menu. Outside of the french fries that was the only vegan friendly item they had and it was delicious. The fries are also good but I’m going to miss the avocado toast.

Average food , nothing special . I got a combo tomatoes soup & grilled cheese - just ok though. And kind of affordable.

Got the chicken Caesar wrap, it was pretty good, the ingredients felt quality. The wait was not long at all for both of the sandwiches. They also had a good variety of foods and drinks to go. My friend who ate the vegetarian sandwich said the avocado went well with the other ingredients.

Waited 20 minutes for a breakfast burrito that was cold. Sunday staff have bad attitudes. No common sense 👎. I kept telling them that I'm waiting a long time.

I gotta say, im surprised for the bad reviews. We tried the roast beef and the grilled cheese, both were gerat. A bit small for the prices, but both were delicious!

NO NAME GIVEN AMAN (Aman)

Very Disrespectful Employee, overpriced.
My personal recommendation: buy something outside of Grand Central, Penn Station or any other Transportation because the price will be overpriced and the food quality will be disaster. Not recommended anyone to this place. Other than grabbing a Beer.

Sal is the best food industry employee I’ve met in 25 years of commuting to Grand Central nearly every day. My sister and I were having a tough time, so Sal spent an obscene amount of his time helping us work through each menu item while helping other customers and maintaining a wonderful sense of humor. This man is a saint. May he be Blessed with the highest blessings, be given a massive raise, and promoted to the furthest possible extent. This guy just gets it. Thanks, Sal.

the staff was very friendly but this was probably the worst sandwich i’ve ever had - everything seemed right but just tasted awful. don’t think it’s anything to do with what the staff is doing but just is horrible product being used.

I placed an $18 order for a sandwich and the truffle fries. I asked for a cup of water but was told that they don’t have tap water and that I should buy a bottle instead. That appeared to be a lie, as I could see a tap running in the kitchen, just over the cashier’s shoulder. They also didn’t know the roast beef and caramelized onion sandwich I tried to order, which I’d had there before. They suggested that I build my own sandwich, which I did. But it was much worse.

Will start going to Chirping Chicken (a similar restaurant next to this kiosk) instead.
