I wanted to come to Chambers for a long time now and hopefully I did ! The restaurant is amazing. The staff was great. As for the food, it was marvelous. I took a main plus a side and a dessert, which was more than enough for one person. Everything was delicious. I recommend this place a 100% !

They don’t just guide; they elevate the entire experience with insight, precision, and a knack for finding the perfect bottle. Service is seamless, striking that ideal balance of attentiveness without intrusion.
What really sets it apart is how effortlessly it blends fine dining with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Last night, the table to my left was savoring a 1948 dessert wine, while to my right, a mother and daughter played Uno as they waited for their food. Somehow, both felt perfectly at home.
It’s the kind of place that makes New York special—elevated yet unpretentious, serious about food but never taking itself too seriously.
Parking: Free street parking starting at 7pm. If you can time dinner for that, you’re golden.

Waiter who saw us was pretentious to an extreme. Website says they like walk-ins and typically have availability and this waiter not only was unwelcoming and demeaning in attitude but made it very clear they did not have availability for multiple hours.
We got on the waitlist for walkins but prior to letting them know he was almost giddy to turn us away at the door while there was bar seating open within our vision. These tables could have been reserved of course but the conversation was very off putting. We canceled and won't be returning.

Chambers is a restaurant which immediately goes from first visit to obsession. It is an amalgamation of food, drinks and "place" - think of a symphony orchestra playing. The frequently changing food menu has perfect choices, for us it was lobster bisque and chicken - latter always staying on the menu because it is so good! Cocktails were crafty and unique. Then there is the wine list curated by Pascaline Lepeltier, Decanter's rising star 2024 and the most approachable wine expert I have ever come across. She grew up in Loire Valley, France and has amassed a list of unparalleled Loire wines. Oh how I would like to drink through the whole list! The overall experience is seamless perfection and when you sit down you feel like you belong - no better feeling to enjoy superb food and drink.

We read many good reviews about Chambers before our meal, and in turn had high expectations.
Service was good; the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Our issue with our dinner was with the saltiness of the food. The flavors were definitely unique and interesting; however, we found our dishes to be very salty. I think we were honestly in shock since we did eat everything even though we kept remarking on how much the salt was overpowering the rest. This is in regard to the Manila clams, but also the greens that accompanied the well reviewed chicken dish. If we were more experienced diners, we may have sent back the dishes.
The other dishes that we had (hamachi and the monkfish) were better balanced, and the mascarpone dessert was actually the highlight of our meal.
In hindsight, we were a bit disappointed since we only enjoyed parts of the meal, and left wanting to retry just one of the five dishes.
Not sure if we will revisit to try again, but hoping our experience was just a one off since people do seem to truly love this place.
