Everything was superb. lol I called back for my macaroni and cheese.

We are staying at the knickerbocker, for convenience we decided to eat at the steakhouse after a long day of traveling.

Everyone's food was just ok.....underwhelming. My two teens felt that the salmon dish and clam bucatini, respectively, was just average. I might have considered that simply teenage taste buds, although my daughter has been with me to many fine-dining restaurants in her past.

My ribeye was tender but honestly kind of blah as well flavor-wise. So was the asparagus I ordered. Although crisp, it had no flavor popping at all. It was advertised to be served with a lemon sauce, it seemed mostly butter with very little lemon.

Honestly surprised going back and reading all these highly rated reviews!! Like I said, nothing terrible but certainly nothing to write home about, especially at this price point, and given another stay at the knickerbocker, I will choose somewhere else to eat. My server was very nice though

My wife and I spent $322 Australian Dollars and received one of the worst steaks we’ve ever had, asked for medium rare, received rare (not that big of a deal I often have rare), steak was of a horrendous quality, can tell that the service staff are required to push the ‘3 part’ menu on customers, in saying that service was 10/10 from the staff, just dreadful food for such a big cost, would not recommended to anyone.

The service was wonderful, however, I had the worst steak I’ve ever had. The quality was terrible. It was an extreme shame. I would not recommend the theatre deal as it I was proposed to ensure timely departure yet had terrible quality.

Food is good but service was awful. Place was half empty on a Wednesday night reception took 10 minutes to sit us, server took 20 minutes to come by, food took an hour. Forgot our drink and didn’t bring a dinner plate. Weirdly bad.

Ordered items never showed, salmon terribly overcooked, service was slow and confused. Would never go back.

Also, one steak dish on the menu....at a steak restaurant.

Amazing restaurant ! Raymond/Rayman the waiter has kept us coming back for the past 4 years. He remembers us everytime & makes us feel welcomed . Genuine human being ! We will be back .

We didn’t experience the food. We definitely experienced the service. Made a lunch reservation on Open Table for 2pm. Showed up, were greeted slowly. Let the person who greeted us know that we had a 2pm rez and were sat. We were not approached by a server (despite being the only table in the dining room) and once we were, no “hello” “how are you” or any sort of greeting. Only know his name is Israel because I asked. Just “are you ready to order?” We said no, we hadn’t had even been offered drinks. Server replied that the kitchen was closing and he didn’t know why OT had allowed the reservation. This is fine, mistakes happen. Why didn’t they tell us this before taking us to the table? “Open Table made a mistake, our kitchen is closing, you can order quickly or maybe find another spot.” There is no shortage of steakhouses in the city, we would’ve simply gone to another. No excuse for the rude treatment but staff, specifically the server. Needless to say, we left.

The place is a quite good one for a steak, but not as awesome as the reviews suggest.

The steak itself was cooked quite well, but much too salty. So too were the fries - VERY crispy, which was great, but much too salty. The sauces were pretty good, as was the soup. All in all not a bad choice - but suspect there are better around.

I am glad I went to this place - I made reservation but there was a change of plan, but I still tried to make it. The steak was amazing - very tender and juicy, I actually eat too much because it was good. The mushroom was cooked in a unique way - I liked it but I always love mushrooms. The dessert and coffee was just a great closure of an amazing dinner. The service was very good - they went ways to get decaf coffee from a different place as they don’t have it at the moment.
