What a surprise. Great food in a simple setting at phenomenal value. We'll go again while on this trip
Great food in a nice setting. Varied menu. Spacious. Much quieter and comfortable than Chinatown spots.
In NY for a 3 day visit then a 2 day Ate hear twice and really enjoyed food Thought it was as good value for NY Great location in mid town Speedy service
The server was overly rude. Very little time for us and the place was not busy at all. Food was OK, the restaurant was clean, but the overall experience was far less than expected when dealing with the guy who was assigned to our table. Will find another place to have dinner when back in the city.
I've been going to Chef Yu for years when I was working within the area. It's been years since I've visited and I'm so glad that the food is as good as I remember them. My favorites include the beef noddle soup (Spicy! And it's amazing), dumplings with peanut sauce and of course, their Peking duck. Most of all, its price point is ♥️.
The food at Chef Yu was terrific, well priced and very good quality. We had an eggplant with garlic sauce that was among the best I've ever eaten. The restaurant wasn't crowded on a cold weeknight, yet the waitstaff had a way of avoiding eye contact with customers as if they were incredibly busy. No smiles either. We'll go back because of the food and prices. Maybe next time we'll get a smile too.
Great decor, the lighting was nice n not harsh. The scallion pancakes were perfectly lightly fried . The general tso n crispy beef were amazing as well, the rice could've been better but still decent. The prices were the best part especially considering the area. Will def be back
I went with my friend and since the time we sat, they tried to rush us. It was like 7:45pm and they close at 10. So, what’s the rush?? We had our first appetizers, and the waiters tried to rush us. We had our second appetizers, they tried to rush us again, we had our entree, again same behavior, while having dessert, again! There were empty tables next to us.. I was meeting my friend after a longtime. We said each other let’s leave. The food was average. Nothing Wow! Not coming back.

Just because we had signs they wouldn't let us sit at a table, but 3 other people walked in and they allowed them a table after they told us it was closing soon. Never coming here again.

Food was good but the waitress are very aggressive on getting above 20%tip
Good fresh fresh food, attentive service, never disappointed in the 10+ years I've been dining here with colleagues. I'm a big fan of their Cantonese shrimp wonton soup!

Ok. I used to give them 4 stars. The food was good, but the service really suck. So, 4 stars. But I found this metal dish cleaner in my food. It was truly disgusting, and I had to finish my lunch.
****I wend to the restaurant to let them know about it and complain. First of all, no body apologized me anything but acted like they were just watching a show. No words, but just looking at me as if they are not the workers of the restaurant. At that point, I was more upset and left there.
Unbelievable of their service and attitude. You gotta say, "oh I am so sorry for that happening or mistake." Is that so hard to say while you are in the service business. Otherwise, get out of the business!
Sure, I am done with this restaurant whatsoever.
You decide! And no complaints if you run into their horrible attitude and food.
