There's not a single day when I don't crave South Indian food. Unfortunately NY has limited options for that. I was really impressed with the food here. I got the masala dosa and it was just how it should be . Sambhar was so delicious and spicy. The lemon rice could be a little more lemony I guess? I really liked that this spot was not expensive!! If you're looking for a no frill and comfort South Indian food then definitely stop by. Also try their filtered coffee
This is the best Indian food I've ever had in my life. I'm not exaggerating. I so desperately hope that Chennai Garden reopens. Please don't break my heart!!! When/if they reopen, you must try the malai kofta and the chana saag. Even the plain rice is delicious. The kitchen staff is also great about accommodating dietary preferences and allergies.

Great South Indian food. As a South Indian myself, it is hard to find with my level of expectations. A good hallmark is a place that only serves vegetarian food. I wanted to give 4 stars due to priciness, but hey, that's Manhattan for you. It's hard to find this level of quality, so I highly recommend this place.
