Cheskàs was recommended for people with IBS like me. It offers pizza with a sweet potato crust which is low FODMAP. We went expecting a real restaurant but this is more a grouping of three little food stands: pizza, sushi and tacos. A couple of these stands have a counter with a few chairs. Cheskas has one small table and two chairs. The pizzas were great.
This is not something I would normally seek out but I happened to stumble across it while in business in the city. This is cauliflower crust with classic tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, basil and olive oil. Honestly whenever I hear “cauliflower” I think to myself “ that’s going to be god awful”. To be fair this pizza is more than solid, but less than great. The crust is super floppy, so if you hate that, don’t bother. However the ingredients are...
Cant believe I'm saying this...but this might just be better than regular pizza. Not only is it way healthier and you can eat a whole pie without feeling awful after, but the flavors of the crust combined with all the toppings choices are truly delectable. Even their desert pizza is crazy good. My favorite was the White Velvet. Feel great to eat and also to support a local NY start up! Must try. AND DOG FRIENDLY, THEY HAVE TREATS!
