I was really really excited to try this place and my group was very happy with the drinks we got. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the service we got. I booked this reservation on Resy and we showed up on time. We ordered drinks and one person in our party of 4 did not want to drink and politely declined. We were then told that there was a one drink minimum. I later checked the resy reservation and it mentions that nowhere, only that groups of 6+ had to spend $50 minimum per person. However, I understand that this may still be the case as it is a relatively small place, so it wasn’t a huge deal. Overall, our server was very short with us, and while we are definitely not the most talkative people, it felt a little bit disrespectful, especially seeing how the server interacted with other customers. Immediately after we finished our first round we were asked if we wanted to order a second, and we declined for the moment. We were then immediately brought the check. We may have stayed and ordered more drinks later on (we had been there less than an hour at this point) but this felt like they wanted us to leave. Then, we were asked to leave because the next reservation was here. This really rubbed me the wrong way, especially after the other interactions we had. I then checked the Resy reservation again and it said that reservations were for 120 minutes., and we had only been there for 70. Overall the drinks were amazing but we felt very unwelcome and I left feeling extremely disappointed .

Chinato is one of those NYC gems you can’t believe you hadn’t discovered sooner. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of chic and cozy, making it ideal for both a date night or a night out with friends. The cocktails are on another level—the Chinato cocktail itself is perfectly balanced and absolutely unforgettable, and the Karma is the kind of drink you’ll be talking about long after the glass is empty. Add in the friendly staff and the energy of the space, and you’ve got a spot that checks every box. Highly recommend bringing your friends, ordering a round of both, and soaking it all in.

The center island bar bring you closer to the bartenders, all of them are sooooo knowledgeable and they go hard on the R&D! Seasonal menu, unique drinks. Truly one of the kind cocktail program.

I am going to go against the grain by saying that the drinks at Chinato don’t taste good. We ordered what sounded to be fruity drinks based on description, only to find out that they were supremely briny. Everyone on our four person table was unhappy with their drinks and we each sampled each other’s drinks to confirm that it wasn’t a mismatch of person to flavor. I normally wouldn’t bother to leave a negative review and instead move on with my day and but it was crazy how bad these drinks were considering the price! Maybe it was an off day, maybe our palate is off, who knows. Great atmosphere though.

Extremely awful experience, will never come again. The capacity is about 60%. While we tried to order , with such a small bar, we waited for 10 minutes after we signal the waiter to order our drinks.
It was not that they were busy helping others but they were talking to other larger tables. After we finished everything and tried to pay for the tab. The male waiter stood next to our table and talked to a group of 5 and completely ignored us for about 10 minutes. Instead of just quietly signal him I talked to him after being ignored, he replied: “ hold on a second ” .
After another 5 minutes a female bartender from the bar helped us with paying the tab. During the entire time, the male waiter was still talking to that table.

Hands down the best bar experience I've had in NY. The drinks are well thought-out, clean, and ridiculously good. The bar itself had a great atmosphere and allows the bartender to interact with the guests and explain the drinks in detail. Danny made our night. He was informative and knowledgeable about everything on and off the menu. Definitely coming back for more, and you should absolutely check this spot out if you're in the neighborhood!

The drinks are excellent. A personal favorite was easily the Grey Luh, possibly one of the best pandan drinks I've ever had. The Rum and Coco Cola was also fun and refreshing. The atmosphere itself is a good blend of casual but also intimate. Would recommend for groups of 2-4 if you're in the area.
