CROSS CONTAMINATION ALERT!!!!
While I love chipotle and often come to this place during work. Today while waiting for my turn, I saw the employee sticking the same thermometer in EVERY SINGLE tray. People have food allergies, religious dietary restrictions, and also dietary restrictions due to health reasons!
He kept wiping the thermometer on the same damp dirty rag ON THE SAME SPOT! When I notified the cashier, she plainly said “he is cleaning it”
And I let her know that is not how you clean. He stuck the same thermometer into pork, chicken, beef, sour cream, rice, literally into every single tray!
Please address this!!!

The food is good but the staff is not nice at all. It was my first time and asked the first girl what the difference is between the different kind a beans and she answered « the color ». I don’t know if that’s true but i doubt it anyway, the girl with whom i paid (cashier with a card) was very unfriendly and she sighed like i was bothering her when i came back to pay for a drink. The guy who but the guac, cheese at the end was nicer but the other weren’t at all.

Rude and inconsiderate of customers’ dietary restrictions. I asked for a burrito bowl with plain brown rice. As the worker started to reach for the regular brown rice I repeated “can I get plain brown rice? I have a cilantro allergy.” She rolled her eyes and asked the cook for plain brown rice and he said he doesn’t have any. I proceeded to request plain white rice, he didn’t have any. “I said I’ll wait, how long?”, they spoke in Spanish and I understood he said “she can wait an hour.”. Rice doesn’t take longer 30 mins to make. The worker turned back to me and said we don’t have anymore rice… it’s 430pm in Times Square, so I was told that to either leave or have an allergic reaction to the cilantro. I’ve gone to many chipotles before and they’ll still try tor give you the cilantro rice, but 9 times out of 10 they have plain rices in the back. This was very poor customer and rude.

UPDATE (7/18/2025) My beautiful daughter put me on to Chipotle-Mexican Grill about a year ago. I usually order the bowl 🥣 to go with a side of chicken 🍗, a side of honey chicken 🍗 🍯, topped off with a side of guacamole 🥑. Finally, I ask for a bag of chips from the cashier to wrap up my order. Simple, routine, and it's my only meal for the day. It's been this way for quite a while and I thought it was time to update my review. The Chipotle - Mexican Grill across from the Port Authority is my favorite. The food is great, the atmosphere is cool and the staff is always friendly, warm and welcoming. Big Shout Out to James(manager) who you can always see supporting his team, greeting and assisting customers, while making sure that everyone has a wonderful experience. Shout Out to the SQUAD: Neiroby, Jean Carlos, Juan, Yordania, and Miriamy... 5 Stars...

Loved the burrito and rice bowl 🍜. Staff was neither rude or friendly. They should be more welcoming! Ambience was ok, not too busy.
Staff are inpatient, get a bowl without rice, the other ingredients portions are small, even you ask for extra, want extra lettuce got refused because she just cover it up and start closing it.... The least amount of lettuce I got ever in chipotle.

Burritos good. Tortilla chips were not fresh, not crispy. Staff was friendly and exchanged. But even the exchanged ones were far away from chipotle standards I am used to.
Surroundings not tol pleasant. During our stay 3 homeless people indide. 2 stole drinks from the lemonade fountain with their dirty plastic water bottles and obe was aggessively begging for money.

as a tourist i loved chipotle i got it 3x in a span of 10 days.. this branch is the best!! generous servings and friendly staff ⭐️ do NOT go to the branch near summit one Vanderbilt as they are stingy with portions.
