Delicious breakfast but the place a little run down. Bad dishes, many flies.

Extremely overpriced avocado toasts served in a gloomy atmosphere. Self-served water was room temperature on a very hot day. Something sad has happened to this place since our last visit a couple of years ago.

I would never return to this restaurant!
We wanted an inexpensive, modest breakfast. We ordered a few sides only to find out that the prices on the menu had not been updated. The price increase was 30%. The food we purchased cost two people 43.00! 1 1/2 scrambled eggs each, 1/2 avocado each, 1 slice of toasted bread, 2 slices of bacon, and two coffees. We would have left and went to Gramercy Tavern (which we unfortunately passed up -for the same price, much nicer!) but it was hitting almost 90 outside and we didn’t have the energy. We were there for about 45 minutes, no one else came in except a few take outs for coffee (on a Saturday morning-red flag). There were 3 employees there but not once did they come over or even ask from the counter (5 ft behind us) if our meal was satisfactory, not a peep!
When we left even though we knew we would never come back we said thank you and have a nice weekend, no response.
DO NOT GO HERE! There are several very nice places nearby with nicer atmosphere, higher quality food, great wait staff and same prices. This place probably won’t exist anyway in a few months.

My family and I absolutely love Citizens of Gramercy. They have the best brunch/lunch in the neighborhood, all in a relaxed, friendly environment. Our kids love the banana bread and cheddar biscuit, and my spouse and I love the cheddar biscuit brekkie sandwich, salmon eggs, waffle, and green goddess shakshuka. So many delicious options.

Wow! The chorizo and poached eggs breakfast was amazing! And Parker (the buy behind the counter) could not have been nicer. Cannot recommend enough. Really excellent meals --been here several times at different times of day and it is consistently excellent.

Terrible place, WC not working espresso machine not working no places to sit and bad cold brew. Nothing like the Chelsea one

This used to be my go to place with good food and service, a real solid neighborhood place. However, the last few times I’ve gone, the service has been bad. Today was the worst it’s been with the waiter basically kicking us out of the restaurant after an hour by giving us our check right after our food arrived, then telling us we could only pay in cash since their Internet was down, then saying we couldn’t split the bill with 2 credit cards and then telling us he needed our table when there were many open tables. New owners/management have made this place an unpleasant place to dine in. Walked over to Hutch and Waldo for the first time after this bad experience and was pleasantly surprised with friendly staff and great coffee!

Was really disappointment in this place. All the tables were sticky or had food smeared on them. The servers did nothing when people told them. The food was sub par and water from the roof was leaking on me during the meal… server didn’t do anything. No offer to seat us elsewhere (there was room). Not worth it.

Nice enough staff, but might be the worst matcha latte I’ve ever had.

The inside is cute and I enjoyed the shakshuka. The side pita chips felt a little oily, but were still good! My friend enjoyed the eggs benny. Neither of us was blown away, but cute brunch place & very friendly service. Thank you :)
