Disappointed! Follow them on instagram and what we saw isn't what we got. Ordered a piece of s'mores cake which was very dry and a filled red velvet cookie. The cookie filling consisted of a small dollop of icing outside and no filling. Not worth the hype!

I've ordered from City Cakes a few times and I've always had a positive experience but on October 5th, I ordered a cake for our coworkers birthday and City Cakes forgot to take one of the paper linings out of the layers of the cake. Needless to say several of us ate paper while eating this cake. I emailed City Cakes to let them know and at least expected an apology back or maybe a refund. However, I was blatantly ignored. Will not be ordering from City Cakes again.

Wow potentially the best chocolate cake I’ve had in nyc! Pretty good size for $9 as well. The space itself is very clean and modern. Only improvement would be for them to have a restroom for customers as they currently do not.

The half pound cookies here are a must try! My go to is the Nutella macamochip. They have lots of other great cakes, cupcakes and cookies to choose from as well.

WOW!!! I'm in awe....Chef Benny and his team did an AMAZING job and I'm beyond happy. This is my first Google review that I've written.I reached out to City Cakes and Chef Benny to make a cake to celebrate my brand's birthday, and he responded to me within a day. I told him what I wanted (which was difficult for other bakeries in NYC that I reached out to); however, it wasn't a challenge for Chef Benny. The cake was huge (but still affordable to me) and it looked EXACTLY like my packaging! Also, sometimes cakes like these taste horrible, but the cake itself tasted really good as well. I will definitely be telling my entrepreneurial friends about City Cakes!

Sugar dose guaranteed !!We took a chocolate cake slice, we couldn’t eat more then a 1/4.I could feel the sugar while chewing.Feels like a pre prepared cake from the grocery store.I went through the whole city for this place… the cakes are amazing with their look. But not with their tastes.

This is a very late review but felt like it had to be done. City Cakes prepared an anniversary cake which I organised for our anniversary trip to New York. I’m in the UK and wanted a custom 3D cake made. From start to finish the process was great. The cake was amazing and just overall a top class business.

Started off very disappointed with this place, I decided to give it another go, and i am happy to say the second time was most definitely the charm! From the jump, the cashier was such an angel and the other staff were just as welcoming. The space itself was a complete dream, and felt straight of a movie! They offered such a wide variety of cakes, and cookies that if you have a sweet tooth you are guaranteed to leave smiling. This time i went i ended up getting the red velvet and funtetti cake slices. Man oh man were they delicious! I almost had the whole thing!!The red velvet cake had such a complex, yet simply delightful flavor it almost explodes on your taste buds! The frosting complimented the cake beautifully and overall i would rate this slice a solid 10/10The funtetti cake felt like an homage to 5 year old me! This cake truly took me on a nostalgic walk back to my childhood and was everything i hoped it would be. It was moist, dense, decadent, and perfectly sweet. This also gets a 10/10 in my book!Overall i rate this place a 10/10. This i can tell will become my go to spot for when i need a sweet picker upper. I am happy i gave city cakes another go. Keep up the good work guys!

Let me start by saying first and foremost that as soon as you walk in this place is unbelievably clean and meticulously perfect in every aspect. Whatever protocol they have in place is definitely phenomenal. I had an opportunity to try the cookies and take some home for family members and coworkers as well, and everybody was more than pleased with all the offerings that they had to try. The young lady that waited on me was very friendly and also explained to me that they do sell custom cakes and ship them all over the United States. Next time I'm in the area I'm definitely going to take a carrot cake home and to try.

I have no words to thank city cakes, my son's cake exceeded our expectations and not only for the art and its perfection, which were impressive, the cake was really delicious, thank you very much.

The chocolate cookie was dry. I didn't like it. $5.00 for it.I have to try other pastries.

Giving 3stars because they have been quite awesome until the recent renovation. I made a first time visit after they renovated the store today and in nut shell -I am now terribly disappointed. I had a banana nice slice and a Bailey’s boozy cupcake. The cupcake was okay but the banana cake was so dry, bland and ROCK-HARD, which was none sense since I picked up those at 11:30am(they open the shop at 11am)…. I eventually throw out the 80% of the card board like cake sheet.( their butter cream frosting was still good though) I had high expectation for their nice slices(they changed the name now) and cupcakes since I have been a big fan of those even before the City cake had moved their store from the old basement level to the new, fancy location. The price of the cakes there have been incredibly higher than before but I have never regretted to buy their decadent desserts…until today. Moreover, they won’t give you any stamp for buying cakes, too. Stamps are only for purchasing cookies.Well… now, I am so sad that I have to say bye bye to a lovely bakery that I really liked. I would rather go for a piece of cake at Whole foods or the westside market to satisfy my sugar craving.

I tried this place based on the great reviews. Cake itself is dense and pretty good. But the frosting is pure sugar. Wayyyyyyyy too sweet!! I scraped off all of the frosting- cake was better without it. But if you are into the super sweet cakes- this is the place for you. Slices of cake run $9. Cupcakes $5.
