City Winery Grand Central

I went to a concert at the City Winery loft last night. It was a great concert, but the food was genuinely awful. My pizza was literally COLD when it arrived. The server was running fast but was way too busy - I only saw her a few times and couldn't see her anywhere after the food arrived. I ate 1/2 the pizza because I was so hungry but not only was it COLD (as in not cooked), it was clearly a frozen pizza that had not been heated up enough. So, it was like eating cold cardboard with some tomato sauce. The table next to me said their pizza was literally still frozen. Much later, I got her attention and told her it was COLD and she apologized, but there was no recognition on the bill. Had to pahy the full $21 for a COLD frozen pizza!!!! My recommendation is to plan to drink but not eat!

The cocktail and the wine were great, but the service and the food were really not acceptable.

We also went to the downstairs bar before the concert and the service there was also beyond bad. The bartender kept leaning chatting with other customers and everyone just waited to be served. Even after we told him we were in a hurry because we had to go upstairs for the concert, he ignored us until we literally had to put down cash, estimating the bill, and leave. Right as we were leaving, he brought the bill. With one bartender and about 18 customers, he did not have time to chat with everyone at length but that is what he was doing.

I would think twice before ever going again - but they do have some great music!!

I performed here as a DJ and the staff was just great towards me. They found out I didn’t eat and packed up a meal for me to take. Great experience

David did a great job of taking care of me and the steak was cooked exactly as asked. Food and service was 100%.My only gripe was that the red wine was very cold and not very good. David did his best to sort it out.

Food is fine...just not what I like, e.g., bacon, sausage, etc.We held an event & I was worried about acoustics...they did a marvelous job for a panel discussion.Great setting!

Looking for a fabulous glass of wine, delectable bite of food, live entertainment and unrushed conversation in the historic beauty and convenience of Grand Central? Seems impossible but look no further than this slightly hidden gem. I've enjoyed great experiences across several visits, Highly recommend.

My best friend and I have made this place our go to before we get on our trains. Reasonably priced with the nicest staff. We’ve been here 4 or 5 times and never have a complaint. Another wonderful thing about accessing the LIRR from Grand Central.
