This is one gorgeous bar: the lighting, the art, the wood paneling, the seating. They are all exquisite ! From the moment you walk through the revolving door you are immediately met with grace and hospitality.

Even without a reservation we were accommodated and treated with charm & perfect service. Our server was knowledgeable and full of good humour. The suits of the servers are pristine and add a considerable touch of class. The food menu is fully plant based & looks very intriguing (we did not sample however). The cocktail list is clever & the wine selection is top shelf.

Clemente Bar does everything right. It is a special night out !

I was very excited to check out Clemente Bar on a short trip to NYC to watch Glengarry Glen Ross. Given its proximity and association with Eleven Madison Park, it seemed like it would be an incredible experience.

When you walk inside, you are greeted by the same hostess of Eleven Madison Park. The fabled dining room of the 3 star Michelin restaurant is directly ahead of you. Clemente Bar is off to the right, up the stairs. As you pass through the darkened hallway, there is The Studio, an 8-seat food and cocktail pairing omakase experience on your left. The Lounge is at the end of the hall, where most people were seated. You can order food and cocktails there a la carte. It was at the Lounge where we had our reservation.

Around 11:00pm, The Lounge was packed with well-dressed relatively young couples and groups in their 20s to 40s. The walls and decor are exceptional. Large paintings cover the burgundy walls. I started off with the La Tomatina, which was a fizzy tomato-tinged cocktail with a salty umami-dense powder brushed onto the rim of the glass. I enjoyed the light and fresh tomato flavors. I also ordered a truffle tofu dog, which was toasted and covered in nori and truffle.

We were quite tired having flown into town on a cross-country redeye. So we were looking to get a second cocktail and get back to our hotel. Unfortunately it took about 20 minutes to get an order of the C.R.E.A.M., which the waitress told us required extra preparation due to it being put into the fridge for the cream to rise. Upon receiving it, I sipped it and it was not much more than a spiked horchata, if I’m being honest. Some freshly ground spices such as cinnamon might have elevated it more. With each drink being upwards of $24 and the EMP conceived dishes, they add up quickly. There is also a bit of stuffiness that I don’t feel at other upscale bars. Probably because of it being upstairs from EMP. In any case, I probably would venture elsewhere next time I’m in NYC.

loved the art-filled space that transports you to another world. drinks are well executed and tasty, and the small plates go well with them, especially since they’re from EMP. we walked in around 6 and got a table for two easily.

An excellent bar. Loved the atmosphere and the food.
Cocktails were a 4/5, though – they could use some extra punch in terms of flavor and proof. Similar to Overstory in style.

Clemente Bar feels like a hidden speakeasy nestled within Eleven Madison Park, offering a moody, upscale atmosphere perfect for a special night out. The intimate space features a small bar counter and a few cozy couches, making it ideal for date nights or gatherings with friends. While the drinks are on the pricier side, they're crafted with innovation and are exceptionally delicious, providing a memorable experience in every sip.

Atmosphere: 9/10
Located in the Madison Square Park area, Clemente Bar offers an upscale yet lively ambiance. The design-forward space features striking art pieces throughout, including murals and a ceiling fresco by Francesco Clemente. There’s no traditional backbar — the visual focus is all on art. Music volume is well-balanced, allowing for easy conversation.

Drinks: 8.5/10
Recommendation: Real Talk
The menu is structured by cocktail styles, offering a thoughtful selection. High-quality glassware, branded coasters, and standout garnishes elevate the drinking experience. Bartenders are highly skilled, and each drink shows careful balance and unique presentation. Their signature martini had a bit too strong flavor, deviating from what a Martini is supposed to be: spirit focused, neutral flavor cocktail.

Service: 8.5/10
Water was served on arrival. The team is friendly and attentive, though service can slow during peak hours. Prices are above average for NYC, but fitting for the premium setting.

I can’t say enough about this place. I came here for a birthday drinks and dinner and the service was one of the best I’ve had in the city. The drinks are absolutely phenomenal, especially the clarified cocktails. I had every single one and they were perfect. Will definitely be coming back at some point in the future.

Impressive drinks. Smooth and tasty. And to my surprise everything (drinks and food) is vegan. The fried mushrooms (while pricy) is worth the experience. It comes super close to having the texture of meat that I actually like them better.

Amazing, beautiful space inside of Eleven Madison Park. We walked in on a weekday at 5:30 without a reservation and got a spot without a wait. We were dressed casually, as was most everyone else at the bar. Service was very good, atmosphere wonderful, and drinks were awesome.

we had a truly phenomenal time at the studio. we were the first seating, and chose to do the alcohol pairing. while we were totally blown away by the food and flavors, it was really the service that made this experience next-level.

andrea, wilmer, steven, and jodi really made the night what it was — full of fun, learning, and connection. it felt like a group of friends hanging out and discovering food and drink together. what more could i have asked for?

it seems they change the menu not by the seasons but with inspired spontaneity. i think i’ll be back in a little while to try something new and have another fun evening with this awesome crew!

after the studio we hit the lounge for additional drinks and bites - the ambiance there too is warm and sumptuous. i’ll definitely be back before long.

The vibe here is one of a kind. It feels like you’re at a 70s Warhol party. The wood paneling and portrait decor is gorgeous. This is one of the few bars this trip I had to settle for a cocktail table and it showed. One server was professional - one server was mediocre. I am a bartender and seek to obtain as much knowledge from cocktail experiences as I can. I received a large cubed cocktail with what I learned was a papaya or other fruit gum square on top solely as garnish. Taking a small nibble of the garnish received a dirty look and comment upon questioning what makes the garnish piece; the sever said “most people don’t eat it”. Okay well cool I wanted to why are you making me feel crazy when the adjacent party also did!?! Some of the most unique and delightful cocktails we had in the city. A MUST GO. Highly recommend just try to make a reservation for the bar: the decor, the bartenders aura, the cocktails… just wow. This is a must visit experience.
