This bar is one of a kind in NYC. First off the food is amazing, one of my friends had an allergy and the chef came and sat down to explain the menu and what she can have. And the food was 10/10.
The night life is so much fun, they have a main bar and side bar, live music followed by a DJ. I highly recommend this bar.

Ordered one vodka soda and it was shockingly $27 (including 20% tip and tax). No “well drink” should be that much money even in nyc. Cheaper drinks would make this place more fun and approachable

So much fun!
We went as a group of friends for the Tuesday line-dancing lesson. We arrived just in time for the last dance and were all wishing we arrived earlier as it was so much fun.
None of us had ever line-danced before, but felt very welcome and included amongst the regulars.

Walked by on a Sunday looking for a place that played a Lions game. (If you’re a New Yorker this may not be of importance. Haha) but I walked in and was immediately greeted and asked what I was looking for. As soon as I said Lions, the guy running the music quickly grabbed the remote and put on the game for us. Big screen all to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. After ordering a couple beers, the bartender brought us out some complimentary biscuits. The space is beautiful and clean, but I would highly recommend it for the outstanding hospitality.
I love the variety of vegetarian options available.

The service felt genuine.
Bouncers are homophobic. First hour was great as was house staff. Once it hit their night Hour staff intervened and harassed us. Pushed the gays out and asked them to leave

I recently visited Common Country Bar with my partner, and we had a fantastic time! The live music was great, and the bartenders were incredibly friendly (special shoutout to Stephen and Destiney), making us feel right at home. It's nice to have a country bar in the city, and we would definitely go again. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

Wait so destiny is a queen. Definitely convinced me to drink a modelo and listen to Luke Bryan on a Thursday
Took my sister here with her girlfriend, and when they shared a kiss on the dance floor, the woman with dark hair working near the floor told them, “You can’t do that here.” Meanwhile, a man in a cowboy hat was openly kissing a woman without issue. This was blatantly homophobic. I hadn’t even had a drink yet, and my sister left in tears, feeling ashamed. The employee who did this will know who she is. I wish I had caught her name. We will be sharing a video of what took place this week. Disappointing and unacceptable.

I’d been itching to try Common Country for a few weeks. On multiple occasions, my friends and I showed up in the early evening to be greeted by a line that would’ve taken two hours to get through. Note: if you want any chance of getting in with no reservation, you have to arrive before 9:00.
This place has an identity crisis. Yes, New York needed a country-themed bar, but this is exactly what it shouldn’t be. Country music is made to be approachable and experienced by all, and Common Country fails to have that ambiance. From the moment you get in line, you almost lose the ability to move for yourself. Once inside, you entirely lose the ability to move for yourself. There is limited standing room because the bar owners have elected to dedicate valuable square footage to bottle/table service which looks like a bucket of bud lights and middle-shelf tequila. The live band sets up adjacent to the entryway, which clogs the bar from the second you walk in. There is a large projector TV above the bar, leaving hoards of people blocking the main pathway to the rest of the bar. And god forbid you stand in between any of these features; the bar staff will hound you to move to some figurative place where you can’t get in anybody’s way!
Live music was weird. Combination of Toby Keith, Black Eyed Peas, and the Cars-4-Kids jingle. The bar staff is so obsessed with control that they try to take your drinks when they’re half-full. And bottle girls sprint through already congested areas like they’re trying to play bumper cars. None of it makes sense.
Oh, and there is one singular restroom for everyone in attendance. And if you try to leave, well, that’ll be a minimum hour wait to re-enter.
Safe to say we were disappointed. Common Country needs to figure out if they are a restaurant, live music venue, sports bar, full-on club, or just a destination where people can enjoy country music. Right now, they’re all but the last one in that list.
