It's cheap and fine, but I don't know why it's in the michelin guide. I'd pay a few dollars more a plate and go somewhere a bit more special.

We ended up across the street at its sister restaurant, Aria. Same menu, even nicer ambiance. We love them both.
Cute intimate spot. Easy to get into on a Friday night. Good prices, food was tasty and served quickly.
The food was so good. We ordered Grilled Octopus salad, Bucatini with pesto, sun dried tomatoes and burrata cheese and branzino with lemon sauce and all of them were on point. Portion size was good. The service was excellent. The noise level was a little high inside. So we opted for eating outside and then there was lots of traffic. And they had no coffee or tea. Otherwise it was excellent.

Food was great. Service was excellent. Noise level inside was pretty high. So we picked outdoor. Not great with lots of traffic and the next table was pretty loud. No coffee or tea after meal was a bust.
TL; DR these people took care of us, beautifully. We were all delighted.
We had reservations at a wonderful place in Midtown, believe it or not, but we were seeing a film at the Film Forum and after 20 minutes of trailers I realized I had been irrationally exuberant and canceled our reservations -- we would never have made it on time, and they were going to close, we had a late reservation.
One of our party had been at another restaurant in the neighborhood, but it turned out to be all-cash and we had already been to a cash place earlier in the day... so that was out
Cortenna was 50 yd further away. I think maybe they had just had a no-show, we got seated immediately, the staff could not have been nicer, the food was truly delicious, one of the best meals I've had in a year or two, very helpful wine captain, everything was just perfect.
We were delighted with our meal, The guests were all much prettier than we were, the food was great, the wine was great, the service was great: everything was fantastic, we were seated right by a window looking at the pretty people inside and outside.
We would definitely go back. Full marks. It was a little on the dark side and I had to take flash photos of the menu, that's literally my only complaint.

We sat outside since it was a warm evening. The food and service (we had theater tickets so asked to be finished by a certain time) were terrific!
My best friend and I came here for dinner and were blown away by the food and service. Our waitress made us some spectacular espresso martinis, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was charming. I highly recommend Cotenna to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and delicious meal

I would give Cotenna 6 stars for food if I could. It's some of the best Italian food that I've had in Manhattan. The restaurant is super small so I would highly recommend making a reservation. The ambiance is cute and cozy, and I liked sitting at the bar area here. The kale salad was delicious- I'm not sure how they made kale taste so good with a bit of lemon dressing, almonds, and pecorino, but it's amazing. And I'm not exaggerating when I say that this might have been the best lobster ravioli in pink sauce I've ever had. Prices are also quite low for the area. I need to return to try more dishes here!

Great spot and atmosphere. You get decent food and nice servings. I would avoid the red wine selection by the glass, they very kindly replaced a glass I didn’t like with another wine while I did not say anything it was just as bad. (Valpolicella and Super Tuscan) the white was decent Vermoentino)

Most dishes just ok. Spaghetti and meatballs—meatballs overdone or maybe cooked from frozen. Pasta undercooked. Everything else not memorable. Won't be coming back
Had a wonderful early Friday meal with a dear friend. Wasn't crowded, service was excellent, food was delicious. A great spot in the Village
It was our first visit to Cotenna, and we will go again. The space is cozy—there is just enough room for a bar and a row of tables, but it feels spacious. Our servers were charming and helpful. But what you want to know about a restaurant is the food, and this is food we'll go back for. We both had the pasta; an orecchiette and a ravioli. They were fresh, full of taste, cooked to the perfect moment.
This is a truly excellent restaurant. Everything about it is first rate except the beer list. It is a small old style NY restaurant with about 30 seats. It has an excellent Italian menu. All of the dishes are delicious. It is completely unfussy. I hate to write a review this positive because it might make it difficult for me to get a table iln the future.
We loved the total experience💯: the food quality, the wine, and warm and hospitable service in a cozy atmosphere downtown. We'll be back for sure🧡
