Service is terrible you wait for a long time if they have a tasting menu until you get bored and you want to leave. Music is loud so you can’t talk much while you wait for the food. We thought it would be a highlight from our trip in NYC and it was the opposite. Definetly would not recommend it for a nice relaxing evening. It is more like a bar to go for a drink then you don’t mind the service

We love Bresca and came for the collaboration with Crown Shy. We had been to Crown Shy before but had a much different experience this time. While the food was delicious (other than a few technical things - tough octopus/dry chicken, but good flavor) the service was incredibly condescending - it was like we were typecast the second we walked in. We were not given an explanation of the menu, were not given an option for a la carte, little drink knowledge (other than the pairing for the Bresca collab) but we could very much hear the tables around us given preferencial treatment. It should also be noted that we opted for a tasting menu, which was served for the table and not individually — odd and should’ve been explained to the diner. Overall a nice concept, but again, would’ve loved to know before starting the meal. The pacing of the dishes was great but the portions were very big. It made for an excellent value but left you stuffed by the end of the meal, so much so that we couldn’t finish dessert. A digestif or amaro would’ve been great but service was lacking and we weren’t given the chance to order until much past dessert course. While I would highly recommend Bresca, Crown Shy is a bit of a wild card. Stuffy, old school vibe but with modern creative cuisine. The food is good, but at the expense of the overall service/tone of the meal.I hope this is an isolated experience but will most likely not be back to try again.

My very favorite place to go for a special occasion. Every single dish is amazing. The choice of cocktails with fresh infusions is amazing. Note that you do not have to save room for dessert, because it is not quite as good as the other courses. And the family style is so fun!

Sleek and swanky ambiance that holds a Michelin star. Food was good enough, but nothing I ate blew my mind. Almost gave me the vibes and quality of a hotel restaurant which can be a good and bad thing. Had a good experience, don't know if I would go out of my way to return.

Wonderful in every respect but the food was shockingly mediocre, especially compared to what it used to be before Saga opened. Oh well.

I’ve had Crown Shy on my list to try for a while now and unfortunately, it definitely did not impress. The ambiance in the main dining area was lackluster with oddly spaced out tables and the music was WAY TOO LOUD. They were playing music from the early 2000s (which is fine) but I felt as if I was at a house party with the way they blasted the volume. The wait service was also extremely rushed and my party felt uncomfortable with the way they kept trying to take away our unfinished platters. The cocktails and food were also unmemorable. The cocktails were mediocre at best with extremely strong scents. We had to send back a cocktail because the smell was making my friend nauseous. We ordered the Gruyère fritters, hamachi, gnocchi, octopus, pork katsu, and the roasted short rib but none of the plates awed us.Overall, you’re not missing out.

Our favourites were the bread, gnocchi and orange ice cream dessert. Citrus-marinated chicken was a miss. Gruyère fritters were memorable.

The experience was magical. So many callouts. The drama of the room is breathtaking. And the subtle nods to Biggie gate it a “only NYC” vibe.Service was impeccable, thank you Dante! For example, they changed out dinner plates after every shared dish. Chefs work so hard on precise dish flavors…it blows my mind that restaurants don’t always do this. The food was elegant and varied…no two flavor profiles were alike. The bread service was over the top…seriously. Hamachi was delicate and balanced. The gnocchi was pillowy soft with a creamy/heavenly texture, the chicken was a huge surprise…a little spicy but exploding with juicy flavor. Thank you for a truly memorable meal.

I have been to Crown Shy many times over the past year and they continue to impress me. Their menu is never stagnant and always contains new and delicious fine dining dishes at a great price. We just tried the hamachi dish and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had this year. So light but full of complex flavors. Not only is the food great but the cocktails are also crazy good. And cannot recommend this place enough! For those looking to try a Michelin restaurant this is a wonderful option!!

Literally perfect experience - from food to vibe to service. Definitely not overrated at all. The scallops, octopus, pork katsu were SO good, and then the sticky toffee pudding was perfection (my partner who does not always enjoy dessert said it was the best dessert he’s every tasted).

We had dinner in this restaurant two evenings and we had an excellent time each time. Original cuisine full of flavors. Efficient and pleasant service. Very nice wine list. Prices a little high but justified in view of the quality.

We went last Sunday night for a family dinner. We ordered White bean Hummus, Hamachi and Tuna appetizers(tiny portions), Gruyère fritters as starters. Can’t remember what else. Everything was delicious. We ordered pork Katsu and the citrus marinated chicken, Gnocchi w Duck Ragu for dinner which were also well prepared and accompaniments were flavorful. Part of our dinner was the charred octopus appetizer. This dish was quite overcooked and chewy. The sauce on the side was the only way we got through the plate. In retrospect we should have sent the item back as it was an expensive selection but we did not want to be rude. This was also unexpected as our other choices were tasty so we did not know how to deal with this miss. All in all this dish was a disappointment. Staff was friendly, vibe was nice and the restaurant was quite full on a Sunday evening. We noticed a gentleman watching over the dining room and I am guessing that was to make sure patrons were either well taken care of or not over staying.
