I just got a mix wrap today and told them not to add any salad. The girl said I have to choose one so I added onions and asked her to give sause on the side The bone dry wrap was loaded with 50% onions and there was no sause! Not inside the sandwich and not on the side! Very disappointed!!

Great food and as good as any of the Doner boxes I've had in Germany.

The beef is seasoned well and doesn’t need any sauce to enhance the flavor!

Located near iconic Union Square in New York City, Döner Haus is a trendy, walk-up doner bar that brings German döner kebab to New York. With its striking facade and no-frills service via window or takeout, it fits perfectly into the energy of the East Village. Döner Haus is more than just a döner bar; it's a modern, authentic spot with German roots and New York flair. The döner sandwich is its flagship, with wraps, boxes, and fries as strong alternatives. Situated near Union Square, the neighborhood is perfect for a leisurely stroll or exploration after your meal.

Originally launched in New York City's East Village in 2023 and an instant success, Döner Haus focuses on authentic German döner kebabs. Similar to gyros and shawarma, with meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, döner kebab was popularized in Berlin in the 1970s by Turkish immigrants. Döner Haus distinguishes itself through its distinct authenticity, 100% halal, and generous portions. The service is fast and friendly, all in a compact and efficient kitchen.

The pièce de résistance is the Döner Sandwich: a fresh, crispy Turkish pide pocket filled with your choice of halal chicken, zabiha halal beef, or a combination of both. Along with red cabbage, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a creamy garlic sauce, this is the most authentic dish of outstanding quality. Besides the iconic sandwich, Döner Haus also offers the Döner Wrap, a soft tortilla-style version, ideal for sharing or enjoying later. For those who prefer a little more, Döner Boxes are on the menu: a bed of Haus Fries and/or salad, topped with your choice of meat and the signature garlic sauce. The fine fries are seasoned with a secret German-Turkish blend and are also a popular choice.

You can’t really dine in here, but their wraps are amazing! I personally love the chicken wrap, and my brother always gets his with their homemade pita. They definitely don’t skimp on the chicken — they really pile it on

GDK was closed and I was craving one since the first time I tried GDK was so good - reviews were mixed but whatever I had no other choice at 12am.

Ordering was easy - computer. Kind of an open kitchen as you can see them prepare. They seem to make their orders in batches instead so it takes a few more minutes to get your order.

I got the mixed meat doner with chili flakes.

It wasn't that good. First all the veggies were in the front of the sandwich and the onions were overpowering. After eating the front there were no more veggies in the sandwich.

I was expecting a mild to medium spicy with the chili flakes but it was just too hot for someone who can only handle moderate spice. I was expecting something like a light amount of flakes like when you put on a cheese pie to give it a little more spice and sweetness. No this was burning hot and I didn't even want to finish it especially since there were no veggies left over to balance and cool down the sandwich a little. The bread is also a little thicker and oiler than GDK. I mean it's fine and the meat had good flavor and wasn't dry.

I took the left over sandwich home and ate it with some Mac and cheese and it was good.

The marketing is cool here but I wouldn't come back as GDK is far superior in everyday

First of all döner is not KEBAB. Secondly Döner is Turkish food.

We were starving while exploring New York when suddenly this place caught our attention 🤩 The storefront is super eye-catching (and yes… the logo totally gave us a little laugh because it reminded us of that famous website 👀😂).

Ordering was a breeze 🙌 You simply do it through a screen, pay right there, and voilà no stress, super fast and easy! ⏱️💳

Now the food… WOW 🤯 Absolutely finger-licking good 🤤🔥 Everything was packed with care, very clean and professional, which made it even better.

And I have to say the girl who handed us the bags had such a beautiful smile 😊✨ It made the whole experience feel warm and positive, right until the very last moment.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re in NYC and craving something delicious, fast, and full of good vibes 💛🥙🇩🇪
