Dallas BBQ Washington Heights

I have been bringing groups to this place for years whenever they visit Riverbank Park for college fairs. On this occasion, I decided to get off the bus and try the food for myself. I ordered the Steak and shrimp with a small side salad to take back to the bus with me. I have NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED ABOUT FOOD I RECEIVED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. The steak was bland and didn't even have a drop of barbecue sauce on it. The shirmp was battered fried and was cold which suggested that it had been fried for a while and had been sitting out. When I think back, I should've walked back into the restaurant, show them the food and demand a refund. Never in my life would I expect to buy food from a barbecue establishment and not have the pleasure of enjoying a sweet, succulent piece of meat drenched in a unique sauce. Dallas BBQ ruined my appetite and crushed my expectations for a good meal. The atmosphere and location was fine. The prices were pretty fair too and I didn't mind the salad. The only good thing here is, I will share my experience with as many people as I possibly can and be sure to advise them to never visit this place. I drive alot, and take groups to New York alot. Be absolutely sure that when ask for good place to eat, or even suggest Dallas BBQ, I will never take them there or recommend stopping there.

Great place for margaritas & piña coladas, decent price and they are strong. Food is tasty & standard for BBQ's, love that they have tostones on the menu, not a BBQ item but they fit in the neighborhood, lol. Music can be turned down a bit, this is a place to eat, not a club, you're pretty much shouting to hear each other across the table. Service is always good.

Ugh. I hate writing bad reviews, especially for the restaurants I enjoy the most. This was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with Dallas BBQ. First of all, no one informed me of the upcharge on the drink I ordered. This was my first time ordering it as well, and did not get any type of description about it. The cornbread was only ok. I felt I was rushed into ordering - as soon as I sat down I was asked if i’m ready to order. I didn’t even get a chance to browse the menu completely. I should have just listened to my gut and not came in… smh never again coming in here.

One of the better locations. Food is always good. It is a NYC mainstay I been eating here since the early 80's. 73rd street was where I first started to go. Still the same and food still good. It's a good place for a family to eat and enjoy their meals.

I really don't care to eat here. Dallas BBQ was never a thing for me. My wife loves it, so we go. On this visit there were maybe 10-15 patrons there, including our daughter, my wife and myself. We saw our waitress 3 times during a hour stay (Initial order, asked for refills and asked for the check). Meaning she only checked on us 0 times. We spoke to the photographer twice 😂. Here's the kicker. She was standing approx. 15 feet away near the kitchen talking majority of the time and were directly to her left..... Still have her 15% tip. We normally give 20 and above. The food was good and the atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. Bring back this red sweet Thai or Hawaiian wings. I can't remember the flavor 😂

I really like to eat there. And I usually get the same thing. Chicken with honey and baked potato but today I decided to get something different. BBQ brisket sliders the worst mistake I ever made. The meat was raw and hard also like rubber. I would never order that again

This place is lovely my sister told waiter it's my birthday and they surprised the heck out of me the staff started singing happy birthday and all the patrons joined in it definitely a memerabla experience
