Visited Davelle after seeing a viral Instagram story, and it turned out to be such a lovely find. It’s a small, cozy spot with a warm vibe that makes you want to stay longer.
I can confidently say I’ve had the best Matcha Lemonade here — hands down. We also tried the Hot Chocolate, Lemon Honey Toast, and Karaage Chicken. I went with my folks, and they absolutely loved everything.
The Lemon Honey Toast was really good, though honestly a bit overpriced for what it is. Still delicious, just could be priced better. The other delicacies, however, were amazing and totally worth the price.
Overall, a charming café with unique flavors that are worth trying at least once. Definitely glad we stopped by!

Super cute café! The famous jam on toast definitely lived up to the hype it was crispy and delicious. Their coffee was great too. I didn’t love my Mentaiko noodles as much; they were quite bland, and I could barely taste the Mentaiko. It was the least generous given I’ve had among all the Mentaiko pastas I’ve tried in NYC. Still, I loved the overall experience. The five stars are for the toast and the coffee!

Got the karaage, ogura toast and uni spaghetti. It was all pretty solid. The black sesame latte and yuzu matcha lemonade were good
Very cute and cosy spot with delicious and beautifully presented toast & great coffee!

Davelle is a cozy Japanese café and restaurant tucked in the Lower East Side, serving comfort food that feels like home. Their Japanese curry, toast, and coffee sets are delicious and beautifully presented. The interior is small but charming, giving off warm Tokyo café vibes. The staff is kind, soft-spoken, and attentive.
The only downside is the wait — it’s a small space, and during brunch hours, you might have to queue for a while. Prices are slightly high for portion sizes, but the quality is undeniable. If you’re into calm, cozy cafés with heartfelt food and Japanese-style aesthetics, Davelle is the perfect choice. It’s peaceful, authentic, and truly feels like a little piece of Japan in New York City.

I ordered the ground pork curry, and it was a total disappointment. There was barely any pork in it — just a few crumbs floating in the sauce. Calling this “ground pork curry” feels completely misleading, and it costs $16 for just the sauce and the rice?? Definitely not worth the money :(
Incredible small Japanese restaurant with comfort food options. The Japanese curry is always excellent

the toast is slightly overpriced, but it was delicious regardless. i really enjoyed the cappuccino i got! we were lucky enough to be able to walk in and immediately get a seat, but the seating is very limited so i would not be surprised if there is usually a wait
