Nice selection of Spanish foods and goods, also has a small limited menu restaurant in back
I went in the Despaña Vinos store a couple of months ago to buy wine from the Sierra de Gredos and the Canary Islands to give to some American friends. The prices in this store are exorbitant and the Karen behind the cash register is arrogant and uncaring. I would not recommend this place.
Gaupasa is a delightful dry rosado of Garnacha (Grenache) w/ soft, not tart, flavors of red fruit & melon. Gonna try to get back to Despana at some point!

The exquisite Iberian croquettes, the traditional Spanish omelette very good
After a long trip to several wine regions in Spain like Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Priorat, I was curious about the inventory of Despaña Vinos y Mas store. A mature blonde lady sitting behind the counter with a glass of wine greeted me with obvious reluctance and asked if l needed help. After l replied l wanted to take a look at wines she ignored me. Few minutes later she approached me with arrogant attitude and asked again if l need assistance. She was obviously uncomfortable with my curiosity and my presence in the store. After buying a bottle of Rioja l left the store. The store is specializing in Spanish wines and spirits but selection is quite poor and overpriced. Because of my experience l would not recommend to shop here.

A stop to feel at home
Love that ey have imported products from Spain. The food was tasty. The service was great.
Prices for the food at the deli are ok for NY, wine prices and prices at the store for some of the products are too high. I got one of the Spanish wines the sell 35% cheaper at the liquor store and cheaper spanish beers are sold at whole foods. However, food was good (adapted to American taste,of course) and the variety of beers was also good. They also have some non alcoholic 0.0 beers. We will come back.

This is a wonderful place for tapas AND an outstanding Spanish grocery. The prices are fair and the service is amazing. We had the potato chips topped with 12 month manchego and black pepper. Wonderful flavor. The pan con tomate (twice) was excellent with crunchy crusted bread with a soft interior and tomato topping. The shrimp were large and the garlic sauce outstanding with a spiciness of the small cayenne peppers. The meat and cheese board was large with cheese, meat, olives, and almonds. The octopus dish was huge, piled high on top of potato slices with garlic aoli and a complimenting sauce. Don't miss out on the tiny chorizo sausages, spicy with a sweet paprika sauce.Make sure you pick up some of the imported foods from Spain especially the Ines Rosales tortas (for those of you in the know) ;)
Slow service. Food was good.

A variety of products from España, for sale. I bought a couple speciality olives, manchego cheese, Jamon cerrano to enjoy with wine at home. They sell charcuterie and wine to enjoy there. I plan to return THIS IS A Hidden gem.
I recently visited a delightful Spanish food store in New York, and it was an exceptional experience. The store boasted an impressive array of authentic Spanish products, from flavorful chorizo and Manchego cheese to delectable olives and wines. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and eager to assist, providing recommendations that enhanced my culinary journey. The store's atmosphere was inviting, transporting me to the vibrant markets of Spain. I left with a bag full of carefully selected items that captured the essence of Spanish cuisine. If you're seeking high-quality Spanish products and a taste of Spain's gastronomic treasures, this store is an absolute must-visit
