everything was amazing but have to give out an especially huge shout out to the fact that they have a non-alcoholic pairing option as well. Gave one of our party members a chance to feel included with everyone who was doing the wine pairing!

Amazing food all around, would 10/10 recommend going for a milestone celebration like anniversary or a birthday dinner. Definitely opt in for their wine pairing option, you won’t regret it. They not only handpick their wines but also pair those superbly with their food. My favorites dishes were hands down their dessert - which was an avocado dallop of ice cream with an egg cream and tortilla chips followed by their thai lasagna and then their onion tart, in that order. I’m so glad I chose this place for my first Michelin Star restaurant experience!

Love love loved it. Not only is the food delicious, creative and unique - but the service that accompanies it is truly sensational. 🌸 Epic experience for any palate.

I posted a video review on YouTube (search for Sodafry and Dirt Candy), but this was an awesome experience. I'm not a vegetarian, but the menu is so creative and delicious. I never felt like I was missing meat. I took my teenagers with me and with a little preparation they had a great time. A highlight for me was the green bean pasta dish on the summer menu and the carrot tamal.

Just celebrated our anniversary here. Overall amazing experience. Great service. Inventive cocktails.
The fall dining menu is new and really tasty. The only miss for us was the unofficial radish plate but everything else was truly phenomenal.

My only complaint is that we left hungry. A possible suggestion is to add bread, a simple fix so that multiple patrons aren’t leaving unsatisfied/hungry.

I like tasting menus. I like vegetarian food. I think this meal and this menu has so much potential. This is the tasting menu where you leave hungry, spend too much and the flavour isn't great, this is what people who don't like tasting menus think it's like. But. Every course had some fatal flaw that once the novelty wore off became really frustrating to eat. The first course the onion tart was the best, my only real issue with it was that the tart dough would break apart and send half the fillings falling away. The second dish, an in between was the radish capaccio, and if you had told me I was eating paper soaked in olive oil, I probably would've believed you. There was no flavour anywhere, the whole dish became super great on the one bite that had salt. And again ease of eating was a nightmare, 1mm radishes aren't easy to eat off of a flat plate. Third was the mushroom hot dog. Not bad if I'm being honest. But the texture of the portabello with the lack of much flavour was quite off putting. I think a maitake or even a nice duxelle would fill the slot nicer without ruining the texture. Fourth was the dumpling/ravioli thing and this was amazing, really great, too bad it's not officially part of the menu and is an unofficial mid course. Fifth was the lettuce lasagna which made me want to puke, the aromatics smelt like puke, and the taste much followed suit. Hot lettuce. Sixth was the beet which was probably the best composed dish but reminded me of the average curry item from trader Joe's. And lastly dessert, too little too late. The pastry needed more but was wholly inoffensive.

This place blew my mind. I was so impressed with the hospitality of the personel, the tasty food and the wines as well. We had the fall menu with the wine pairing. We were there at first day of the fall menu.

I wish I could eat that bbq squash every day of my life, and if I could pick one desert for the rest of my life it would be that potato ice cream. The wines were paired perfectly and that funky orange wine sent tingly shivers through my whole body.

Best part is, no tipping.
I will be coming back here every time I visit NYC.

Dirt Candy has been on my list of "must-try" restaurants for a while now, so I was thrilled to be surprised with a dinner reservation for here. Creatively presented dishes, superbly friendly service and a cheery atmosphere really made me a happy lil camper. Spoilers ahead.

First Course: Lettuce. My personal favorite, I could eat this all day every day and will attempt a recreation at home when I can. The pickling reminded me of Chinese pickles, puffed rice gives a fun poppy texture and the labneh surrounding was a creamy delight.

Second Course: Tomato. Wonderfully puffy lil donut, sweet tomato jam, fresh cherry tomatoes on top. Super fun, and I'm not a huge tomato lover so I was quite surprised!

Third Course: Corn. My husbands favorite by far. This was a very nice pasta course, great chew from the orecchiette and I really appreciated how the vegetables were cut for texture and presentation. Very pretty, loved the broth.

Fourth Course: Eggplant. SO CUTE. A gosh darned corndog. But my least favorite flavor-wise, sadly. Hands down the most creative of the bunch, though, it just seemed like a bit too much going on? The mint was quite powerful and the broth didn't quite seem to mesh for me.

Fifth Course: Onion. Gosh, I love me a savory-esque dessert. The sandwich part of the ice cream sandwich was fantastic with the creamy onion ice cream enclosed.

Extras: Three little kitchen extras with the meal, a little savory ice-cream cone with creme fraiche, radish noodles with a FABULOUS texture that I also want to recreate (I love how the sesame seeds stick to the noodle, giving a fun bite indeed), and little zucchini cheese cake bites at the end (very light zucchini flavor, but it was there! adorably tasty).

Drinks: Veggie Slushie - Cucumber/Serrano, strong and spicy (says my husband)., and I ordered a non-alcoholic beet juice drink that I cannot recall the name of - tasty and a great companion to the meal.

5/5 Place for me, it was the most fun I've had with dining for a while. Even if I didn't love everything, the presentation and care of each dish made me smile. The hard work really shows and I do indeed appreciate the effort that goes into it all. The meal took a little under 2 hours for us, was enough to feel pleasantly full but not stuffed, and left me with a wonderful birthday memory. Hope to come back again soon-ish!

Four days in New York, a reservation that we expected a lot from, a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York.
What a disappointment!
One wonders if Michelin was paid to give this star.
Order the aperitif (I recommend that you do not take the one based on aquavit) and arrival of the first course almost at the same time as the aperitif!
Out of five dishes, alone, the tomato donut surprised us and could have deserved a star start.
The rest, disappointment all round: Dull and very little taste interest.
I don't understand the number of 5 stars in the comments (from friends, family!?)
In short, to avoid!
