exceptional. from start to finish. the service was magical. the staff - aggressively hospitable (in the best way possible). Every dish was a gift even though the extras not on the menu are considered the gifts. Flavors you would never expect to work together married perfectly. As someone who isn't an avid drinker I went with the non-alcoholic pairing which was a wonderful treat.
Disappointing! We were expecting creative, fresh, nutritious vegetable dishes. Surprisingly many of the dishes were fried, oily and sauce and cream laden. Felt very healthy and heavy. As we left the hostess asked us what we thought. When we started to mention the deep fried dishes, she cut us off and defended the menu. We are in the customer service business and know the importance of hearing guest feedback to learn, adapt and improve.
everything was amazing but have to give out an especially huge shout out to the fact that they have a non-alcoholic pairing option as well. Gave one of our party members a chance to feel included with everyone who was doing the wine pairing!

Amazing food all around, would 10/10 recommend going for a milestone celebration like anniversary or a birthday dinner. Definitely opt in for their wine pairing option, you won’t regret it. They not only handpick their wines but also pair those superbly with their food. My favorites dishes were hands down their dessert - which was an avocado dallop of ice cream with an egg cream and tortilla chips followed by their thai lasagna and then their onion tart, in that order. I’m so glad I chose this place for my first Michelin Star restaurant experience!

Probably one of the more affordable Michelin Star experiences, don’t miss out.

Love love loved it. Not only is the food delicious, creative and unique - but the service that accompanies it is truly sensational. 🌸 Epic experience for any palate.

I posted a video review on YouTube (search for Sodafry and Dirt Candy), but this was an awesome experience. I'm not a vegetarian, but the menu is so creative and delicious. I never felt like I was missing meat. I took my teenagers with me and with a little preparation they had a great time. A highlight for me was the green bean pasta dish on the summer menu and the carrot tamal.

Just celebrated our anniversary here. Overall amazing experience. Great service. Inventive cocktails.
The fall dining menu is new and really tasty. The only miss for us was the unofficial radish plate but everything else was truly phenomenal.
My only complaint is that we left hungry. A possible suggestion is to add bread, a simple fix so that multiple patrons aren’t leaving unsatisfied/hungry.

I like tasting menus. I like vegetarian food. I think this meal and this menu has so much potential. This is the tasting menu where you leave hungry, spend too much and the flavour isn't great, this is what people who don't like tasting menus think it's like. But. Every course had some fatal flaw that once the novelty wore off became really frustrating to eat. The first course the onion tart was the best, my only real issue with it was that the tart dough would break apart and send half the fillings falling away. The second dish, an in between was the radish capaccio, and if you had told me I was eating paper soaked in olive oil, I probably would've believed you. There was no flavour anywhere, the whole dish became super great on the one bite that had salt. And again ease of eating was a nightmare, 1mm radishes aren't easy to eat off of a flat plate. Third was the mushroom hot dog. Not bad if I'm being honest. But the texture of the portabello with the lack of much flavour was quite off putting. I think a maitake or even a nice duxelle would fill the slot nicer without ruining the texture. Fourth was the dumpling/ravioli thing and this was amazing, really great, too bad it's not officially part of the menu and is an unofficial mid course. Fifth was the lettuce lasagna which made me want to puke, the aromatics smelt like puke, and the taste much followed suit. Hot lettuce. Sixth was the beet which was probably the best composed dish but reminded me of the average curry item from trader Joe's. And lastly dessert, too little too late. The pastry needed more but was wholly inoffensive.

Fabulous experience. Creative menu--just sit back after deciding whether to go for the vegetarian or vegan option and whether to enjoy the wine pairing--and let them take care of you.

This was about our 4th visit ( we don’t live in the US) and we love it and keep coming back. We first came because our daughter was vegan but have since been back without her. My favourite ever was the spicy, creamy Brussels but everything is great. Also as Brits it’s interesting that they refuse tips! Hopefully we’ll be back this November
Rarely have I felt as though an entire restaurant was focused entirely on my enjoyment; Dirt Candy effuses with honesty and an obsessive desire to please. The warmth of the welcome begins with Charlotte, Michael and their colleagues who exude an easy-going hospitality coupled with a level of professionalism that suggests care without being cloying. Having ordered the wine pairing, we decided on cocktails. This was absolutely the right thing to do - they are (of course) vegetable themed and remarkable. The Winter five-course tasting menu can be summed up as follows: Potato | Celery | Kale | Cabbage | Winter Squash. Each dish is an attempt at perfection in flavour, technique and presentation. They are all stunning in conception and delivery. I wish they gave lesson (the Dirt Candy book is a start) because I would be first in line. As well as the five courses, there are some gifts which allowed us to catch up with the drinks. The pairings are inspired: a Crémant with lovely soft bubbles; a Junmai Ginjo Sake to complement the celery miso soup; Grüner Veltliner from Austria; a Valdiguié from the Suisun Valley, California; and, a Pedro Ximenez NV sherry to complement the kabocha squash flan. Dining at Dirt Candy is as essential a New York experience as a visit to the Guggenheim, a Broadway show or a walk on the High Line.
absolutely amazing ♥️♥️♥️♥️
We went here for a birthday dinner and everything was so unique and delicious! Each course was spearheaded by a different chef, so you go so many different takes on how so many talented cooks would approach preparing normal, everyday vegetables. For having a Michelin star, how unique the dishes were, and how popular the restaurant is, this is well worth the money. It's very difficult to get reservations, so you need to keep your eye on it for some time. I would consider coming back another season just to keep seeing what surprises the kitchen has in store for us!
Food, wine pairing, and service was perfect. My taste buds were surprised and delighted by each selection. The ambience was ideal—enough noise to keep conversations private yet soft enough to use a relaxed voice. Each server was very friendly but also unobtrusive (service was seamless). I cannot describe the food or wine. They must be experienced.
