Big plate of food for only $10 pre-tax! Food was pretty good especially for the price. Everything they had in their hot bar was vegan except for one dish with paneer

It's pathetic outlet. Need to improve food quality, interiors and hygiene. Highly unhygienic place as of now.

An affordable and basically always-open pure veg place that would be an essential refuge for students and gig workers in the UWS even if it wasn't also some of the best and most instantly recognizable North Indian home cooking you can find in New York. Get whatever they have and eat it with fragrant tawa roti and mango achaar.

This place has the feel of a classic side-of-the-road locals-only fast food place. The taste is distinctly and authentically south Indian. From the extra spice is the curried spinach (sarson ka saag) to the depth of starchiness the aloo paratha, the food is hearty and warm with a good flavor. I'm not going to say it's the cheapest food, but it's quite cheap; you can eat for $10-15. I recommend getting one paratha and a plate, or one paratha and a single curry. The spinach is lovely vegetal and spicy and buttery.

Original Indian food taste. Being Indian and dining in most Indian restaurants in nyc I assure you, this is how food taste in Indian homes (not the restaurant). High end restaurants alter the food taste to fit the customer’s taste which is way different than original taste. If you are craving for original Indian food taste this is the right place. Space is small and tables are less. Consider ordering online if it’s rush hours or expecting great hosting experience. Rate is very low and affordable. I will recommend 10$ Thali and/or 5$ aloo paratha with curd and mango pickle if you are eating Indian food first time. It’s not a fancy restaurant and it’s run by an old couple. Restaurant is open and all foods available from lunch time to late night. It’s a pure vegetarian restaurant, no meat and no wines/bear is served.
