Amazing place! I went here to get a celebration dinner for myself, and it was great. The food was delicious, the staff were kind, and the place itself is very peaceful on a weekday night. The okonomiyaki was really wonderful, and it was a meal that was wholesome and left me feeling very satisfied. They have great drinks in the fridge too. Check this place out!

But what separates this place from the others (even the other phenomenal restaurants in the East Village) is the care and attention it gives to regular customers. Watching your calorie count for weight? They’ll adjust the way they cook their veggies to your preference. Want something spicy spicy? They got you, and they endeavor to remember you! Can’t give this place and the folks behind it enough praise.

I go to Doko Demo every time I’m in New York. It’s a simple and welcoming spot a great little local gem that always makes you feel at home.
The food is absolutely delicious, portions are generous, prices are fair, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything is fresh and made with care.
We’re always greeted warmly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Honestly, it’s the best dining experience I’ve had in New York. I keep coming back and I will every time I’m in town.

I ordered tonkotsu fried rice from this place yesterday. I am in disbelief with what I received. I always dine here and the tonkotsu has become all fat. Seems to be the one who cooked it doesn’t know what tonkotsu means, which is BREADED pork strips. What I received was all grilled pork fat. The meal was not cheap. I am never coming back here again.

It’s a cozy spot, very affordable, no waiter to tip. But the cashier will bring your food to the table for you. They’re all very nice. I love the food and must go back soon
