Great brunch place and the cocktails were magnificent. Didn't research this one and just swung by on a whim and did not regret it at all.

The food was amazing! I had the French toast which almost tasted like cake, and the drinks were nice too. Downside is that one of the plates was chipped and broken, the bathrooms didn’t have any tissue paper, and the table was very wobbly.

Going to see Wicked this place is around the corner, 2 floors and outside dining in a rail car style setup.Went up to the 2nd floor bar Jorge took care of us. Cozy atmosphere, if in town for a show give it a whirl.

Easy pre-theater spot, you'll be satisfied and won't be late for the show.

A great little spot with good drinks and good food. The selection is limited, but fair. Good prices considering location. The staff was a bit apathetic, not rude, just dull and basic.Food came out hot. The sauce was bland, but the salmon was good. The mussels were great. The oysters delectable.

Would’ve left a higher review except that they overcharge like crazy here. The food/drinks and service are good but we got a side of fries which they charged us $12 for and it was happy hour so I ordered two whiskey sours thinking they would be a well drink for $9 and instead they had a “3 ingredient whiskey sour” that added simple syrup so they charged me $15 for each one and made a big fuss about it. If they didn’t try to upcharge us so much I would’ve had a better experience but be aware to always ask and make sure you know what prices because they will charge you the absolute most and then try to tell you that you are in the wrong for expecting a well drink when you order one.

We have dined at Dolly Varden several times when we have visited NYC, mostly for brunch and a couple of other times for dinner. We went this Saturday evening after a show and it was not the same experience at all that we have had on past occasions. The service was exceptionally slow. When the waiter was taking our drink order, our son requested a beverage from the menu that wasn't available (hot cider) because there were no hot beverages being served that evening. Our 12yo was upset and it threw him off, so we asked for a few more minutes and proceeded to wait at least 10-15 for the drinks that had been ordered to arrive. After putting our food order in, we watched several other tables (some that had been seated after ours) get food while we waited for about 45 minutes to get ours brought to the table. The food was OK, not the same level we have had in the past when dining there. My short rib grilled cheese was greasy, the mac and cheese was overly-cheesy and tasted burnt, the other food was OK. While the waiter frequently stopped by the table next to ours to check in on them, he never stopped by to ask how our food was. I had to flag him down when we needed the check, because we had a train to catch, and it took a long time for him to bring it and then also return to take it. I get that it was a busy Saturday night, but it was incredibly slow overall. It was also very loud and felt much more like a bar setting than it had on past occasions when we ate dinner there.

Loved the vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant. The cocktail tree was gorgeous. 10/10 presentation but maybe a 5/10 on taste.I really enjoyed the food here. The lamb shank was extremely tender and cut through like butter. It laid over a creamy bed of mash. My friends raved about the grilled cheese and definitely get the truffle fries over regular fries. The chocolate mouse cake was decadent and a great way to end the meal. The servers were extremely attentive and gave us a wonderful experience!

Delicious food, cocktail tree for brunch which was cool, although I found some of the drinks too sweet, and nice staff. I don’t love the high top tables but it’s all that was available. Fun, cute spot.Older review and pics included as well.
