This place closed in January 2020 after less than a year. Google maps needs to get their game together. At least Yelp lets you know they’re permanently closed.

I've got to say this is the best Italian restaurant in NYC, if not the best restaurant of NYC.

As of 1/1/2020, according to Upper West Side sources, Leonti has closed. No reason available. Too bad because it was a wonderful place. It was there for just a year.

There's an old expression about restaurants like this. "You leave with an empty stomach and an empty wallet." Such is true of Leonti, where a glass of water will cost you $10. This is no exaggeration. When the bill arrived, a charge for $10 for water appeared, and yet there had been no mention of water being for sale on the menu. Leonti, can you guys get any cheaper? Charging people for ordinary water? And then not even refilling the glass more than once during the meal? This alone would have irked me, except that the food was boring. I don't mind paying $30 for a single finger-size bite, as long as that bite actually contains flavor. Boring, overpriced, and certainly not filling. I spent more than $100 here for dinner recently, and when I left, all I wanted to do was go down the street for a $3 slice of infinitely better pizza.

A wonderful meal at Leonti. The ambience, greeting and professional, cheerful service top-notch. The lasagna and king crab souffle are uniquely delicious. The complimentary breaded olives and breaded veal chops were laden with delicate flavor. This was a memorable meal served impeccably. Enjoy.

If you're trying to impress someone, take them here. Upscale, elegant and more on a quiet side, good for business dinners or for those romantic celebrations, or taking your parents to. Artsy space with great artworks. Modern Italian food were cooked to perfection. Tip: be ready, it's pricey!

Nice decor and ambience. Food was good. A bit expensive and small portions.

Leonti is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in NYC. The food truly transports you to Italy. I love everything about dining here from the service, beautiful atmosphere to the incredible food every time.

Amazing special place, with exquisite food, decor and service. We reserved a dinner with the Piacere menu for a group including international guests to celebrate a birthday, and it could not have been more perfect and unique. It thrilled everyone, even those who are not New Yorkers (one commented that food and wine were Divine!)! This city is full of good restaurants, but this is one you'll remember on account of the cuisine and experience. It is not a factory, they'll accomodate any special (allergies, kids!) needs you have and you'll wish your belly was big enough to eat the extra bonus desserts they bring. If you're lucky, the chef and owner may come out to say hello!

We had a truly special evening at Leonti last night. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for a treat. The service we received from every single member of the staff was on a level far above the norm. The space was elegant and intimate, and the table settings were beautiful. The wine director, Ryan, has assembled an extraordinary wine list and introduced us to some new favorites we would have otherwise not sampled without his expertise. The food was good. I loved my snapper and enjoyed the rich sauce that accompanied the dish. Unfortunately, my boyfriend found the porcini pasta under seasoned, a disappointment given the lovely texture and shape of this handmade pasta that is made from flour milled in house. My food allergy to gluten was handled with care and this celiac really enjoyed the chickpea cracker (sort of like a papadum) during the bread service. Dessert was a highlight -- we loved the apple sorbet, which was unlike anything either of us had ever tasted. The only reason this review isn't five stars is the lack of originality and inconsistency with the food. Every other aspect of this experience was top notch and I would definitely return, but I hope attention is paid to the menu and that promising pasta dish is properly seasoned in the future.

Truly a perfectly lovely experience! The room itself is warm and quiet in its noise level, sophisticated without being stuffy. The service is perfect, hitting the mark of being attentive and helpful without hovering. A dying art. My husband enjoyed his red snapper, the artichoke lasagna was fantastic. The apple strudel was delicious. The food was over all creative and inventive. Wine and cocktails were well crafted, and well chosen. Oh and the bread is truly beyond words! We look forward to our next visit......

Amazing food and amazing service in a beautiful setting. The foie gras and scallop starter in a peach sauce was superb, as was the cappellacci with chanterelle mushrooms and corn - hit so many rich notes and layered flavors in both dishes.
