This is a cafe that I need to give a try again. From the price, I wasn't satisfied but it definitely gave me the caffeine kick I need. I will definitely come back to give the experience another chance. Thank you for being open during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Smood is in my beautiful neighborhood, I have past this establishment for quite a while and I've been keeping up with my health so I decided to pop in to get an immune booster shot and as soon as you walk in the young ladies at the calendar and greets you with a nice hello which made my day!! They have two kinds of booster shots one is a changer and one is a turmeric and the other a ginger so I ask which one do they recommend and they recommended the ginger because it was nice and smooth and it was a great recommendation I also got the Pistachio Cardamom Loaf (GF/V) which has NO SUGER ADDED but a little dry for me which is understandable because the ingredients are all natural but overall it was a good laugh very small just for the digestive system. They do offer other cold pressed juices which I will go back and try but I was very impressed with the cold press booster shot. And thank you to the young ladies for an amazing service.

Stopped by because I'm a s***** for hipster overpriced coffee spots. And also, they had counter space so I could enjoy my Russ & Daughters bagel from next door. Drinks are definitely pricier here than the other fancy coffee shops I've been to, so I was expecting a great experience. Nope, the opposite. The cashier wasn't very friendly when we were ordering. I asked her about a specialty drink, and she literally just read off the description on the menu. When we asked about the type of coffee beans were used for the cold brew, she didn't even seem to comprehend what we were asking. The cold brew was okay, pretty standard. No frills, but did the job. It was literally filled with ice to the brim, and the coffee wasn't even filled completely... Maybe up to 80% of the cup. Lame. The rose coffee drink I got wasn't what I liked. It was too spicy for me, and the coffee tasted burnt and over brewed with the bitter after notes. Restroom was clean, so it did the job. Their avocado toast was straight up disappointing. I overheard a couple getting excited about seeing avocado toast on the menu, and ordered one to share with their drinks. When it came out, it looked much more depressing than this quarantine lockdown we have going on right now. I heard the couple literally say, "wtf, where's the rest?" Maybe I'm extra blessed because we have amazing avocado toast in California. But it was an over ripe brown smear of smushed and lopsided avocado on the toast. It looked like there's no effort whatsoever, and if they're charging $10, don't even bother. It didn't look like there was any salt and pepper either. If you're charging so much, at least make it look presentable if it's not even going to taste good. For a hipster coffee joint, I've never been so disappointed seeing toast before.

My new favorite spot. Love the protein avocado toast and black lentil soup was yummy too. Tasty food and you feel good afterwards too

The food is healthy and delicious, the space is light and comfortable, and the counter help is mostly helpful—certainly attentive. I had the Green Protein smoothie with an extra shot of protein, small organic vegan tomato bisque, and vegan sandwich, which was spinach, tomato, and hummus on grilled ciabatta. The tomato soup was garnished with tasty sprouts and is as good as you’ll get anywhere. Really savoring it! The ciabatta is perfect in texture and flavor, and the hummus just right. Everything is served in compostable packaging, as are the spoons and straws.

I needed a quick lunch and came in here and got a sandwich. I'm taking off a star because it was somehow the messiest sandwich I ever ate (hummus falling out everywhere), but it was really tasty, made fresh and quickly, and was healthy, plus I found seating, all of which was what I needed in the moment. I was definitely return here or another of their locations.

Raw Mocha was great! Love the earthiness of cacao and espresso. Food options look great. Organic, clean food. We had just eaten elsewhere, so we did not order. Lots of grab-n-go items in the coolers, reasonably priced. Plenty of seating options. Friendly staff. Will definitely add to my list of places to revisit.

I've been going to the Dr Smoods for almost 2 years, nearly everyday for lunch. Today while chatting with one of the wonderful staff members, I was made aware that Dr Smood is now charging their employees to have coffee and beverages. I'm outraged, this is insane. I have worked in hospitality for years in college and could not imagine being asked to use my meager hourly wage to pay for water and basic coffee while at work. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired! Absolutely Shameful! A place that is making a killing financially, and supposedly prides itself on being a progressive health and wellness cafe, yet can't support it's friendly, hardworking staff who work during NYC lunch rush hour - that is a place that I no longer want to support. And I'm sending a memo to everyone in my offices not to support as well. Outrageous! Preposterous! Greedy!

I've been wanting to check this place out. It seems to always be busy on the outside, the ads are witty... but this place is probably the most expensive cafe in New York. Got the salmon sandwich, protein shake and some chips which all came out to $35. I MIGHT have been okay with this if the food didn't taste like I ordered it from JFK airport. There are hundreds more places around the area with better quality and prices.

Somehow, some way, more pretentious than its slogan would even suggest. Aside from their astronomically high prices, there is nothing that distinguishes this juice bar from any bodega counter with a juicer. I cannot, in good conscious, recommend anyone spend their hard earned money here on a $6 cup of mediocrity falsely advertised as cold brew. This is the tangible embodiment of the words "avocado toast."

Decor is amazing. Prices are whack. Soup is mediocre, and the smoked salmon sandwich was straight up bad. Go to russ and daughters two shops down for fantastic lox bagels

Cozy corner java shop right around both russ & daughter and katz deli. I had better coffee but this place was comfy, friendly and the location great for sit down and chill after eating pastrami & lox

This was my first time to Dr. Smood and I was in the mood for something on the healthier side. I ended up getting the smoked salmon avocado toast which was just ok. There was really nothing special about it, and for the price it wasn't worth it. The space was also kind of dirty with trash overflowing from the cans, so that wasn't particularly pleasing to look at while eating. I might come back here again to try a drink, but I don't think I'd come back for food again.

Stopped by during our NYC vacation on our way back to the hotel. Normally we like healthy options and are open for new coffee ideas but this place was just disappointing. I ordered a drip coffee from their board and the rather unenthusiastic employee told me they had americano only!? So I went for it and it tasted very bland and seemed watery. The flavor tasted almost not like real coffee. My wife had an oat milk latte which she didn’t finish as the flavors wasn’t there. My son wanted a warm milk and since this place is dairy free we went for a coconut milk which seemed very watery as well. Together with a cookie and a small pistachio cardamom loaf we paid $25 and I felt robbed. Safe your money and go somewhere else. Lots of other good places in the area.
