Been coming here for years for bagels. Love them. A few days ago I had a hankering for whitefish salad so got a 1/2 lb. Aside from the fact that they had the nerve of charging MORE THAN $31 PER POUND for it, it was TERRIBLE. Tasted like eating pure salt. My entire mouth inverted. And GIANT bones in there as well. And I've been eating whitefish salad since I was a kid, so i know the difference. What a complete and utter sham. They should be ashamed of themselves.
It's an amazing place for fresh and healthy food.Staffs are very friendly and service is awesome.I would highly recommended sandwich (freshly made).Would definitely recommend this place.
Crazy good sandwich. Great prices. Nice people. Definitely recommend.
Amazing sandwiches and a small hot coffee is $1, pretty good for that price and very friendly people, it's a mom and pop shop. I suggest this deli for a quick bite.
Was lucky to find this NY Bagelry close to where I was staying. A daily morning pilgrimage to pick up one of their wide choice of authentic (boiled first) bagels (garlic, onion, salt, poppy seed, everything) to take back for breakfast. Fantastic range of salads, cream cheese, deli meats (loved the turkey pastrami, hot pastrami, smoked turkey) herring and smoked fish to go with it. You can, of course, get them made to order there. Small amount of seating. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
On a recent visit, we went to Tal Bagels so that we could have our "fix" of New York bagels. We were immediately greeted by one of the young men behind the counter who offered us samples of their lox with some scallion cream cheese. It was very good, so we splurged on bagels with lox. After giving him our orders, he began to with some co-workers. He seemed to be rather nonchalant in preparing our food. Later, he asked if I wanted a tomato on my bagel. However, I was unaware that it would cost an additional 75 cents. I guess he did a good job of up-selling!? Although we enjoyed our bagels, I thought that the person who had assisted us was not as attentive and focused on serving his customers as he could have been.
Benn going for years, and you just have to take a deep breath, or write it down if you want more than 2 bagels with different fillings. The bagels are excellent-crisp even before toasting-and fillings are delicious, plentiful, and pretty expensive. You'll just need to brace yourself for the clueless service, and you will easily spot anyone who has been here more than once because once they (I) order, they track every movement of their server to ensure no screw ups...'No, I said sesame, not poppy seed..."sorry"...No I said toasted not untoasted.."sorry"...No I said lox spread not lox..."sorry"...No, I said pepper not salt'....etc etc. If you can handle that, it's a great choice.
