Be VERY careful . We have been overcharged TWICE in a row , then found extra charges on our account , so obviously someone had taken our card number down . We had to replace our cards . The “ server “ was obviously guilty when we faced them .

The ambience was much better than the place next door and the staff was so attentive and knowledgeable. Loved it. I come from London where we are spoiled for choices but this was truly an authentic Mexican place ?

Super chilled Mexican spot in Hells kitchen and easy to walk in. Margaritas were strong! The service was a bit slow but the food was good. We went for a few tacos to start and then shared the fajitas - would defo recommend!

Shocked I haven't been to this gem as I love Mexican food and always searching for great options in NYC. Though they don't take reservations, was able to come here on a Thursday with a group of 5. The service was fast and the sangria was delicious! The margaritas also looked quite good, but I knew I would be drinking wine later, so I really enjoyed my sangria! The chips and salsa are of course a great feature, but recommend getting the guac as well. Very fresh and great flavor. My shrimp burrito was really, really, REALLY delicious. The seasoning and cook on the shrimps were outstanding and was happy with the amount of shrimps in the burrito - they didn't skimp on the shrimp! I was also very hungry, so I got a side of fried plantains, which were very good and hit the spot. The crema you dip them in also goes great across the meal. Great place for a cool date night, drinks and apps on the way out, or a celebratory spot!

Most of the menu item portions are hugh and can be shared between a couple - though most patrons took their leftovers to go. I'm sad to say, I was neither!!!?There's one caution I must stress:Beware the combo libations!!!You may not be able to stop after the 2nd glass - they're refreshing and delicious!!!!!

Both my sister and I ate at el centro on January 19th.We had the nachos with chicken as well as chips and salads and soup. The food was like warm and didn’t taste great but we hadn’t eaten all day and ate it anyway.We wish we didn’t.less than 10 hours later we both became violently ill. She began throwing up and then about an hour later I did. We weren’t even in the same home at the time. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Both of us had food poisoning from this place for at least 24 hours.My advice: :DO NOT eat here. It’s absolutely hands down filthy and you may get food poisoning like we did.RUN far away. There are tons of other Mexican options in the area.
