EAT HERE IF YOU LIKE ROACHES IN YOUR FOOD AND BAD SERVICE.Last night I wound up at this restaurant on a date. We were in the area and found it on Google so we decided to give it a try.We ordered a couple of appetizers and an entree to split. We started with the tuna taquitos and the jalea, both of which were tasty. But I did notice that, despite the restaurant being mostly empty, the service was pretty slow/inattentive and although my date finished his water pretty quickly, no one refilled his water glass. When they brought out the branzino entree that we were sharing, it came with a plate of fresh tortillas. I gave one to my date and took one myself, remarking to him that they looked freshly made from scratch. As I went to serve the branzino my date looked at me with a very strange look on his face and stopped me from picking up the serving spoon. He gestured to the tortilla I had just handed him and when I looked more closely at it, I saw that there was A ROACH PRESSED INTO THE TORTILLA!!!!! A ROACH!!!!!!!!!We both froze, we looked around for the server but of course she was no where to be found. My date got up out of his seat and crossed the dining room to ask her to come over to our table. As she followed him over I saw her roll her eyes behind his back (she didn't see me watching her) which was very rude and uncalled for. When she arrived at the table and he showed her the ROACH, her reaction wasn't at all what we thought it would be. She was very slow to react and she made a big show of holding the plate next to the tiny light on our table so she could study it further. It was almost as if she didn't believe us even though she was literally holding a tortilla with a roach pressed into the center. It was so odd, I expected her to be horrified but she just slowly walked the plate to the back of the restaurant after mumbling a barely-audible "I'm sorry". I saw her take the plate to (the person I assumed was) the manager who was eating some in the back of the restaurant. He got up, put his plate on the bar, glanced at our table and then the two of them went over to the computer. I couldn't believe that he looked at us but didn't come over to our table to apologize!!!We sat there in disbelief and disgust for a couple of minutes while they remained clustered around the pos station. After it became clear that they weren't going to come over and speak to us, we gathered our things and walked out.I've worked in food service in nyc for years so I understand that pest control is a real issue in most restaurants, but to know that the roach was on the tortilla press and still escaped notice is pretty horrifying and speaks to their overall negligence. In addition, when something like this does happen, it's customary to quickly approach the table, aplogize profusely, and offer the customers some options to help diffuse the situation. The server and the manager did neither. What a terrible place this is, if I could give it zero stars, I would. We left hungry and thoroughly disgusted.*it may be worth noting that we were the only people of color in the dining room, not sure if that impacted how we were treated.

We popped in here on a whim after a show and I was pleasantly surpised! Excellent, elevated Mexican cuisine, all the dishes we had were outstanding! Great guac to start with homemade tortilla chips followed by an amazing tuna truffle tostada and langostine tacos. Even the elote side was was awesome with such great flavors. We caught them at the end of the night so service was patchy, but look forward to giving them another try for the amazing food.

Great all around. We have been a return customer. Not your typical run-of-the-mill Mexican food. Good raw oyster bar.

I really enjoyed my time there, I would say from the hospitality level you feel compelled to stay there because it feels cozy and warm, you get to feel almost a sensual vibe on the space. I would definitely be back to have more drinks and food, in terms of food the quality is great, all the menu dishes are thoughtful, in terms of flavor I tried the Ceasar Salad, Jalen, octopus, fajitas with Strip and lobster tail, I can say that some of their mains are a bit on the bigger side, like shareable, have it in mind when you order or ask servers, Ivan was fantastic too. And the pineapple sponge cake is all a piece of art, well balanced. Still I need a bit more touch of seasoned for certain meats but overall an enjoyable stay. Be back soon!

Good quality and flavor seafood spot. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees - all dishes were delicious. Service lagged a bit in the beginning but picked up later on and overall had pleasant experience. Adequate street parking in surrounding area (metered) and free after 7pm and all day Sunday. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert. Ambiance was relaxing and right balance of upscaleness. Will come back here again.

I almost don’t want to leave a review because this was so delicious. Our group of five had a delicious dinner and with two Mexican guests in our party - we were impressed! Can’t wait to return. Highlights were the tuna tacos, lobster aquachile, lobster entree, grilled oysters, and grilled octopus. This might be my new favorite octopus on the UWS.Dietary restrictions: My family member is gluten and dairy free and they had no issue accommodating!

Overall, we had a great experience here. The food is excellent and our server was great. Unfortunately, this great experience was somewhat soured when we were leaving the restaurant, when the host seemed to suggest that I might be taking the wrong backpack. Of course, I was not + if they are concerned about that issue, then they should give tickets out with bags that are left at the host's desk, which they did not do. It was a bit offensive for the host to suggest that I was taking someone else's backpack, which I was not and would not do (why would I want to give up all of the possessions in my own backpack?!).

I ordered the Fish Schnitzel, which was pretty good! Elote was also wonderful. Unfortunately our waiter did not check in on us throughout the service and our plates were cleared very quickly (quite literally as soon as we finished our last bites) so we felt very rushed and monitored.I will not return here or recommend this place to my friends as it seems other ⚪ hispanohablantes got better service from the host and staff. We did not receive a goodbye from the host as we exited. Overall a subpar birthday dinner celebration.

Front door showed us that the host had no idea how to treat staff. Menu items - whole fried dish - proved not true. Unable to process a gift certificate? Really?

2nd time here for my wife and I. We were treated just as well as the first time we walked in. Ariel (Manager/Maitre D) and Roberto (Senior Bartender) were amazing and ever so friendly. Made us feel so welcome. Roberto kept ensuring all was well with our food. His recommendations were spot on. Definitely worth the trip from mid-town. We will be back. Thank you.
