We were there on the 23rd (highly recommend the day before Christmas Eve) in time for the last part of happy hour and enjoyed a flight of excellent wines and the cocktail of the day also excellent. Then we had a lovely dinner of tasty dishes from crudo & tartare, perfectly cooked duck breast and pasta and a fun finish with donuts that were like small bombolonis - it was an omnivore's delight.

The food is amazing, especially the salmon sashimi, squid ink linguine, oysters!!!! Ambiance is beautiful. Not noisy but close to all the action. Service is impeccable. The host that works the door Sunday evenings is absolutely the most gracious and professional. A++++

My girlfriend and I had gotten there late for brunch, it was already happy hour. The gentleman at the door was polite and sat us down. He also kindly told us that brunch was almost over, Which we totally understood. As we are waiting for someone to come by and take our order My girlfriend starts feeling extremely uncomfortable because she had noticed the staff was whispering about us. All of a sudden I guess they noticed they weren't being so subtle and a bald man with glasses awkwardly approaches the table very passive aggressive to tell us we look better sitting from the other side of the table and that brunch was already over. ( I cringed ) ... at that point there was nothing that could be done to safe this unpleasant exchange of words. The server was ok but also rude. Although I have to say, the food was incredible Indeed enjoyed the dishes. But the service was mediocre at best and that awkward situation with whom I assume had to be the manager since when I asked if I could order he heard me and said he wasn't ... just walked away. I am not new to the service industry I've dined all over NYC from Jean George's, to Masa, Nobu, Katsuya, you name it, even Lure fish Bar, Bar tulix and even Bowery Meat Company which are all owned John McDonald who happens to own Mercer Street Hospitality Founder. I've also worked in the hospitality industry and this has probably been the worse experience I've had yet to endure at a Mercer Street Hospitality Establishment. Hope this helps !!!

This isn't my first time here but I'm always awed each time I return. The food is consistently great! Same for the staff! Great atmosphere indoors and out. Open air! I look forward to my next visit.

Food was superb! However, the wine pours were SEVERELY lacking. You are supposed to fill a glass to where it starts to get larger in circumference, not beneath that. And they asked if we wanted another glass and refilled them while there was still wine in the glass, making the pour even less. Really, not cool. And our food took forever, all other tables had their food who sat down after we did. Service was very nice and the food was delish. Although the spaghetti and meatballs seemed to be a much smaller portion than everyone else's meals. Fill the glass to the right level and we will return.

The food was very good, but our table felt forgotten. Very hard to get a servers attention, and we waited 20 minutes for drinks. Music was a random mid-2000s top 40 playlist which was also super bizarre

I feel I may need to try this place again during a not-so-busy season. I visited during Restaurant Week, which brought a level of excitement and a large crowd to follow. The music was very loud, and the ambiance was super moody. The bar staff were kind and willing to serve, which made up for the lack of service received from the waitstaff. The menu for Restaurant Week menu wasn't as appealing as the main menu, so we tried some of the recommended common dishes. The food was okay - not stellar, and the temperature was lukewarm. Towards the end of the dinner, we were ready to run out because of the noise level, crowdedness, and un-thrilling wait-service.

Our friends came late, but the waitress was patient and warm—the food was delicious and the drinks made to perfection. I recommend; meatball, tuna and cauliflower apps, and the squid ink pasta, the duck bolognese, and the rock shrimp.

Such a lovely dinner at Hancock St. restaurant. The space is so elegant and beautiful. The buttermilk biscuits and branzino were both delicious, and the chocolate cake was absolutely amazing. My server Melanie was wonderful, and took such great care of me. I will definitely return very soon.

Everything was fabulous. They made us feel so special for my boyfriends moms birthday. The food was great! I loved the gem salad, Of course. We also had more like the squid ink pasta, rock shrimp pasta and tuna tartar. Overall 10/10.

Food is great, but this is the second time I've dined at Hancock St. and been struck by staffing issues - specifically delays and the sense that the server is responsible for too many tables and is studiously avoiding eye contact with you because they're overwhelmed. This time, the host ended up taking our drink orders b/c waiter was unavailable, and those orders took around 20 minutes to fill. The labor market is obviously very tight but this seems like an unusually salient issue at this restaurant.

Food was overall very story and the reason why I come is because there are a few finishing that we really enjoy. Unfortunately, the host / maitre d' was extremely rude during our entire experience, not accommodating and had a rude tone toward multiple people in my party.

They did not care when a mouse was walking netx to the outside tables. They just said “this is the street” and forgot about the mouse. It was very uncomfortable to stay having dinner there.

Extremely overpriced. cauliflower appetizer fir $21 was small and just ok. The entrees are about $8-10 more than they should be. No refills on their $6 coffee. No sugar substitute available. Though the veal schnitzel was quite good, this restaurant is not worth the cost.

Truly amazing dining experience at Hancock St. restaurant. The dining room is absolutely beautiful. I had the special kale and beet salad to start - which was fresh and delicious. I then had the tuna with the white bean puree and pesto sauce. It was out of this world. And I finished with the chocolate cake - which may be the best chocolate cake that I've ever had. My server Jaime was wonderful - so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He made everything perfect. I can't wait to go back.
