This place used to be much more flexible and veg friendly! I don’t like Brussels sprouts and asked if the chef could make mixed veggies taco and they said no ? Like I’m sure they have onions peppers and mushrooms that they could’ve thrown together. I was quite surprised at the inflexibility. They used to be so flexible when they first opened.

Less experimental and upscale than when it first opened, now just a solid neighborhood taqueria. Come for the killer happy hour taco/drink specials (see photo) and gorgeous daylight. Carnitas were dry but the chicken-árbol tacos were a reminder of glorious days gone by. I think folks are upset about the downmarket repositioning - but honestly it’s still very satisfying

I was very happy with my experience with Empellon.The outdoor seating is very nice and you can watch everyone in the park. You can't really see the water though so it was a bit misleading.Service was excellent, everyone was really nice and food came out fast. We also went there during Happy Hour and they checked on us multiple times including right before it ended to ensure we got our orders in.Side note: The happy hour deal is great here. They have a lot of drinks and food...
