Me and my friends ordered Tomato half and spicy soup half! The beef tongue was my favorite. The broth was on point. Not too spicy and too numbly flavored, also by having tomato in the side pot, we could have both sweet and spicy flavor at the same time. It’d be better if they can get the customers sauces for free tho!

ER HOT POT is a fantastic spot for authentic hot pot in the heart of New York City. The restaurant has plenty of space for many tables and large groups. It's the founding and flagship of their ~3 restaurants throughout NYC. All the food is excellent and of high quality, and the drinks are cheap ($5 beers). They even have a bubble tea spot connected to the restaurant which you can order from the menus. The staff are very attentive at bringing your dishes and keeping areas / plates clean. Really great service; would recommend for a nice hot pot experience!

Ordered the medium spicy beef tallow. I love spicy food but this was almost pure pepper oil. Burnt my throat and ruined the entire meal. I informed the servers and ll he did was try to water it down, whisk only watered down the flavor, not the spice.

I came here for dinner solo. I had to wait a really long time, not sure why. Other than that everything was great about this place. The staff is really nice, ordering is easy through the tablet and the food is serviced very quickly. The sauce bar is what you would expect at a hot pot place, it seems like they do already have pre made dipping sauces for you if you don't want to make your own. The food and quality was good in my opinion. I did like the coconut broth. It was pretty interesting.

Staff is very nice but honestly, my boyfriend and I both got horrible food poisoning only hours after visiting this place. We were both sick for a few days after visiting.
FOOD: For the price which was pretty steep, we decided to order a package that came with a lot. We ordered shrimp, a variety of beef, chicken and the two-broth pots. We didn’t finish everything and felt super full when leaving. Got very lethargic when we got home and then felt all the symptoms soon after. Horrible.
Here’s the thing. I’ve done hot pot many many times at other K BBQ restaurants. Never ever had this experience before. Red flags: the serve red would pour hot water from a kettle into your broth when it started to go down, thus changing the temperature of the broth. You would then “cook” your meat (whether is was lightly defrosted or raw) in the water, new temp completely unknown - this is has to be how we got food poisoning. Additionally, I should’ve noticed this in hindsight but the chicken we ordered was raw and I honestly couldn’t tell what temp I was cooking it to in the broth.
After eating here I was scarred from hot pot for months. Seriously, both my boyfriend and I were violently ill the rest of the night into the early morning the next day. The nausea and upset stomach lingered on and off for a day or 2 afterward. Go with caution.
