Unfortunate experience with food at dinner. I expected things to be salty with Basque and Spanish cuisine, but everything was heavily, heavily oversalted. The blood sausage and lentils were the best dish we had. The anchovies on bread didn't have much punch or flavor, pretty much just salt and bread. The tilefish was perfectly cooked but massively oversalted. The duck was dried to leather.

There is a really nice atmosphere at Ernesto’s. The food was tasty, however I think the smaller dishes are stronger than the larger ones (so load up on these). The pricing is on the higher end eg $20 for a g&t, $34 for Iberico & crisps (chips). Our bill for 3 people and 3 drinks each came to $400+

Fine dining food in NYC with Spanish-Basque food. Influence of San Sebastián, rich in sea themes. It is an adequate price and I recommend using the chef counter to first witness the kitchen.

We sat at the Chef’s Counter overlooking the back kitchen and had one of our better meals in recent memory. Super friendly, attentive staff with good knowledge of the menu. We started with cocktails, which were a step above the usual manhattan fare and designed to fit within the food menu. We started with the jamon croquettes that had a light, crispy batter and enjoyed the crab tarts as a compliment from the kitchen — a must get when we return. The Bikini Hemingway is simple yet refined with a perfect balance of sweet and savory and hits you with a perfect balance of textures. The Galician octopus is reminiscent of a classic pulperia in basque. The sauce work on the cannelloni was sublime, but the pasta was a bit under for my liking — only critique on an otherwise amazing meal. Nice dessert selection too!

my new favorite restaurant, an absolute gem! a balanced and flawless meal from start to finish. our server Matthew was very helpful validating our menu choices and guiding our wine pairings. every dish was a star, but a true gift was the sherry flight we enjoyed with the desserts! Daryl, the somm, gave us a wonderful introduction to the flight and it really took our experience to another dimension. so excited to come back and sit at the bar to explore the rest of the menu!

Ernesto’s is great for a group or just to meet someone for a drink and snacks at the bar.The cocktails are great - try the Spanish G&T for something light and refreshing or the very flavorful Padre. The jamon croquetas, crab tart, and tripe are also delicious. They change their menu frequently and offer seasonal items.

The food was below average here unfortunately. It was so expensive. Our food and pasta came out cold. Bummer, as we were looking forward to it.

New place for us. Very interesting delicious offerings. Options plentiful. Everything was served timely, drinks flowed, servers checked in regularly. Good vibe throughout. Definitely new go to place when in LES.

Love Ernesto's been coming here for a lot of years the slices are large and awesome for a reasonable price. I just moved back to Cambridge after many years in LA only to be reminded Cambridge pizza is no better than LA's. So first shot I had I jumped on T and headed to the North End and grabbed a couple slices - that's a lot of pizza at Ernesto's - and was reminded what awesome pizza tastes like. I'll be coming back often for my Ernesto's pizza fix. The staff are awesome too.

Went for dinner for a special occasion at Ernesto's and it was a fantastic experience. We shared dishes and all of them were delicious, the octopus my favorite. Cocktails were good too and they start you off with a nice wine. Highly recommend eating at the chef's counter as you get to interact and see them hard at work.
