Loud, but the dj is great. The cocktails definitely stand out, and if you get the chance to talk, the bartenders are knowledgeable

The drinks are surprisingly well done. Thanks to Nico de Soto.
Only I really don’t like the drainage smell in the room.
Will definitely consider coming again.

Slightly under the radar, as they haven't made the top lists yet, is the local Experimental Cocktail Club in NYC's Flatiron district. Ever since I discovered the brilliant bartender Nathalie Derrieu in 2020 when she was working at Katana Kitten, I knew she was just getting started. And now that she's the head bartender at ECC and in charge of the entire menu, I can say I was right. She, the bar and the menu all have a charming French touch. From the hilariously named 80's martini with a delicious grilled olive and smoked olive oil, to Tarte Tatin which is an apple pie in a glass, to Milk Money which makes your brain explode. It looks like a failed chemistry experiment but still manages to taste like an Espresso Martini. Is she a witch? If we're around, we'll always stop by, and you should too. If you can find it…🍸😍

Another great cocktail bar in nyc! We enjoyed all the cocktails we got, and the bartender was engaging, telling us some fun facts about the bar.

Had high hopes for this place and I do think it has potential.
The drink menu has some interesting choices but in the end I wasn't really drawn to more than one option so not sure how overall interesting the options are. The drinks we got were tasty and on par with what I expected. But they're too expensive. I know the argument can be made that they're similar to other such places but that still means they're expensive.
The vibe is cool. Downstairs speakeasy vibes. But as a tall individual, I found it physically a difficult place to be. I couldn't really stand up in all sections of the place because of how low the ceilings are. And I'm not sure why the choice was made to use furniture the size of what one would find in a second grade classroom to decorate. There was a couple at a table next to us who for whatever reason only had a table no chairs so stood next to a tiny table that was well below their knees clutching their drinks.
When we went there was a DJ so the place is popping and loud so can be a fun time from that respect. Apparently they have some karaoke/piano nights, which can also be fun.
The service was super friendly, especially for this type of place, which I appreciated.

Been to Experimental Cocktail Club twice, and I love their non-alcoholic options. Both times, I sat at the bar, and the bartenders were fantastic. They are so easy to talk to and create beautiful drinks. I was there when they had DJs spinning vinyl which was so fun. Definitely recommend this intimate, upscale lounge for their unique menu and great service.

I had this place saved from TikTok but it is not worth it. It’s advertised as a cool speakeasy but it should be advertised as an all pink bar. It’s in the basement of an existing bar and the ceiling is very low. The staff is very friendly but the vibe is just extremely overrated. Also I got a reservation but this is 1 drink max. The seats are also very awkward so try to sit at the bar if you have to go.

Cool decor, intimate vibes, but served prebatched drinks of all things, for a place called Experimental Cocktail. I’ve been to the original location and the one in Paris - this one needs to do better on the drinks front.
*Edit in response to the owner's reply: Not debating the quality or the ingredients in the prebatch, but definitely debating the flexibility and customization I would expect at Experimental Cocktail. Simple example: I asked for a martini drink to be made with vodka instead of gin and was told that was not possible, which is ridiculous again given the concept of this venue.

Tasty drinks! The music is a bit loud for good chit chat but the ambiance is great. The food is just okay. Bread and butter was slightly peppery, a bit dry, and the butter flown in was reminiscent of popcorn butter. The wagyy sando was kind of similar to a toasted prosciutto sandwich.

A speakeasy located in the La Compagnie Wine Bar making a grand return. The cocktails are curated with a bit of French flair. You will find libations made from rare, unique, and artisanal liqueurs. This cocktail club is for the grown and sexy. It's a divine experience. You may want to make a reservation.
