O.M.G. this Café is a hidden jewel. The place has a stunning view, tables all well separated, service is highly professional & the food is yummy. Their pastrami sandwich is the best in NYC!!! You can never go wrong!!! To get in, you have to find a tiny door between Fairway’s entrances and walk up the stairs. You’ll want to come back to give me a ♥️ at my review!!!!

nice second floor cafe in Fairway supermarket. The cortado cafe was great and the "big breakfast" was good. Nice window view. Good place for a quick breakfast but does not look like a place to seat and relax. Bill was $30 before tip for 2 coffes and one breakfast.

Everything about this place is awkward. The food is okay (their corned beef is probably the only thing to go out of your way for if I had to pick something). It used to be cheaper I think the prices went up about a dollar or two since they introduce new menus(I know we're going through inflation but it felt very sneaky). I really go here cause it's quiet, low-key and has free internet. The staff always looks miserable it doesn't help that the restaurant is always empty when Im here. It's very dull and not very inviting. It doesn't feel like a place that's being looked at with any kind of care. I'm curious as to who is actually running things here, It's completely night and day from the employees that work in the supermarket below. You'll get much better service and quality food at the Viand Cafe across the street. I'd really keep my expectations low if you're trying this out for the first time it's very grey. I was told that the restaurant closed during the pandemic and it had only just came back last year. It really just feels like history will repeat itself in my opinion.

It's a hideaway and you can have a relaxing breakfast. The interior and food look great on Instagram, the taste was good, and the menu was also good. The opening was delayed by about 30 minutes, but the tour started just as a local elderly couple arrived, so it's possible they were picking people. That's the kind of attitude he had. Other than that, the service attitude and friendliness were good and I enjoyed my morning in NY. I hope that discrimination against Japanese people who are not good at English will end. 5.2018

This was an unusual find for me, a Cafe upstairs from the grocery store. A full service menu is available. Everything was hot and fresh and served by a most pleasant waitress, Alyssa. It was what we needed during a visit to New York City: a great place to stop and relax. The food was great, the prices were very reasonable and the service absolutely top notch!
This place is great, however I suspect the place suffers from a lack of management and staffing, which probably explains the middling reviews that I can mostly agree with.

Spotty food quality , at the beginning everything was excellent but now they must be using inexperienced kitchen helps as cooks and no chef - so they went in my book from a 5 star to a 3 star place - just like Fairway itself ….. if you doubt my comments …. I’ve known Fairway since at least 1986 !

I had no idea it was even there! My boyfriend brought me, we were going to shop at fairway but I was hungry and one shouldn't shop when hungry. The waitress was lovely. The food very fresh. Nice choices.
