I had an incredible time at Comedy Cellar! The atmosphere was electric, the comedians had me laughing non-stop, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The variety of acts kept the night fresh and exciting. I can't wait to come back and enjoy more hilarious evenings at comedy cellar highly recommended
Great place! Had a few questions beforehand and the lady who picked up the phone was super nice and understanding. Everything ran smoothly, and the comedy was HILARIOUS.
I loved this place. Its just what you would expect in at a well established and down right popular NYC neighborhood club. Dark, tight fit, small stage. The place has several areas where the acts are performed. Couldn't quite figure out the layout though. There are many performances. The staff is very efficient and well organized to keep things flowing. (By things I mean the lines of people to get into acts that are running simultaneously and back to back. Best of all....the 5 comedians we saw where hilarious. I mean it. I can generally only take so much live comedy acts as i dont find them all that funny most of the time, even the most famous ones. Every comedian was funnier than the one before him/her. Just enough raunchy at times to still be funny. Just enough poking fun at an audience member to still be funny. And, it was affordable (in my humble opinion) . We would have loved to go again while we were in the city but all show sold out. Get tickets in advance and GO!
Overall a good experience but not especially spectacular service. Compared to the main comedy cellar, this area is much more intimate (~30-40 seats)and is directly above, so the bathrooms, facilities, and speed of service are about the same. The website and booking process could be modernized but didn't face any problems. There is a 2 item minimum, and the selection/prices are adequate. At the end of the show, all the checks were passed out at once, slowing the entire process down. Also, to leave, you need a stamp on your receipt, which they give you after tipping, not after charging your card which even further slows the process. The staff were not particularly nice and also expect a tip on the total price of the tab, including cover charge, not just your items.
I’ve always gone to the Village Underground and this was my first experience here, and it’s nice!! Feels less cramped in this one, and the comedians were amazing. The audience also seemed smaller so it felt more intimate. Definitely recommend.
Every time I’m over from London I make sure to pay a visit to the comedy cellar or FBP. It’s never been a dull night. Top (world) class standup performers. Service and organization is impeccable ?
This is the third tear of the Comedy Cellar family in NYC. It’s the nicest interior but I’ve had more luck at the other locations when wanting big names to show up to the late late showings. It’s a good spot and worth a visit but if you’re trying to catch a big star… you have to visit the location around the corner.
so funny!! the show was about an hour and had 5 very hilarious comedians. Perfect for a date night, friends or whomever but beware if you sit in the front row you will get called out!
I've always watched comedy shows in the original Comedy Cellar space and was a little nervous to go here but it was small and intimate which is the way it should be. Talent level is very good at the Cellar in general so I never doubt that I'll have a great time even if I don't know any of the comics. The Comedy Cellar website needs to be revamped and updated. Old school! Buying tickets is not a fun experience and it totally glitches out at times. Tried to buy tix this weekend and it kept kicking me out and then when I got thru everything was sold out...
I didn’t come for a comedy show. I met a friend here for drinks. The vibe was great. Food drinks, friendly bartender….what else can you ask for.

The worst manner on the bouncers. They shuttled everyone outside the club and then when asked to use the bathroom they refused despite trying to explain that I was just inside and left from the other side. I have sent you an email with the title complaints about bathroom and I have yet to receive any updates.
Really great show but the staff takes your phone and smart watch without really giving an explanation. There’s also a two item minimum that we weren’t aware of prior to going to the show. The actually comedy was amazing, though!
Been going to cellar shows for years, always a reliably good show! Unfortunately, every time I’ve been to this location security have been rude in line and after the show. Ruins the vibe, especially for out of town friends and family. Highly recommend every other Cellar location but this one!
All in all we enjoyed the night and had some good laughs. MC hardly did anything, just kept asking where everyone was from and then continued to only introduce the acts. It also felt like the comedians were doing us a favor by being there. Atmosphere was so so. It was my first time there and really can't compare it to the experience at the Comedy Cellar itself which I've been to several times and really enjoyed.
Nice club and overall great comedians and great staff inside. Why the 2 star sadly the security out front is unnecessarily really rude and unpleasant. Saw some of their own colleagues actually look at them in despair not understanding why they have to be so mean. We had a great night and were in great spirits prior to that. The arrival experience really ruined our mood for comedy, it’s a shame.
