One of my absolute favorite meals this year. Service, vibe and food were all 10/10. Standouts for us were the spare ribs, wedge salad, seafood tower (the razor clams and smoked fish dip especially) and the prawns and grits. Great wine list as well. Highly recommend for a date night or fun friend/family dinner.
The problem with trying to make a nice piece of fish taste like a piece of southern fried chicken, is that if you succeed too well, well, then why not use the cheaper chicken? Why did I pay for this nice fish? We had oysters, razor clams, scallops crudo, and the fried skate. Across the board, too many flavors added, and not always too balanced. If you like seafood, and a restaurant that celebrates it with subtle interventions, this is not the place for you.
I’ve been lucky to have a few different types of experiences here: the tasting menu with several friends, hanging out at the bar for drinks and apps, and brunch at the summer pop up, Dogwood Cafe. Every time has been a delight! The food is phenomenal and like nothing you’ve had before. Drinks are delicious as well. The fried skate is one of my favorite dishes I’ve had all year and the creativity of the hush puppy egg waffle is as eye catching as it is tasty. I’d recommend...
