Fisher Brothers & Leslie Glack Kosher Caterer is a neighborhood gem and I don’t say that lightly. I don’t go all the time, but I go enough to know the food is consistently excellent. Their desserts? Unreal. Old-school, generous, and genuinely satisfying.

Yes, they’re a butcher and a great one at that but don’t sleep on the rotisserie chicken. I originally bought it thinking I’d share a little plain protein with my dog (and bless them, they helped me figure out the plainest option they had). But they told me how good it was, and they weren’t lying. I ate it myself. And yeah, it was worth every penny.

One moment that stuck with me: one day their card machine was down, and I only had a card on me. I grabbed a cake and they just said, “Come back later with the $10.” No drama. Just trust. I did come back, of course. But that interaction said everything to me about the kind of place this is, the kind of people behind it, and the kind of community I just moved into.

Cash is king on the Upper West Side, I’ve learned. That’s part of the charm. It’s personal. It’s relational. And it’s rooted in real credit not just financial, but human. Trust-based. They care, and it shows in the food, the prices, the energy, the way they serve.

Five stars. Zero hesitation. Bring cash. Come hungry. Respect the vibe.

Really great experience at Fischer Bros & Leslie Glatt Kosher Caterer and Butcher today (6/17/25). My boyfriend and I each ordered a sandwich - corned beef on rye, heavy mustard, and pastrami on rye, heavy mustard. The sandwiches were delicious, the cold cuts were sliced in front of us, the bread fresh, the mustard - amazing and they were accompanied by a generous portion of fresh coleslaw (it had peppers in it, which we both enjoyed) and a pickle! Generous amount of meat, we honestly could have split a sandwich, and a very reasonable price for glatt kosher and this neighborhood. We also purchased for later, a challah, chicken liver and a frozen chicken pot pie. The customer service was professional and efficient, while warm. Inside, everything was very CLEAN. We are already planning our next trip to purchase a rotisserie chicken (they looked really good) and some ground beef.

Also, I saw a review mentioning an experience involving racism at this establishment, while I cannot comment on the experience's of others, I would like to reassure other future patrons that my boyfriend who is black was treated with the same respect and courtesy as myself. We both agreed there was nothing but a respectful and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we walked in, to when we walked out. We look forward to returning to this butcher soon.

I guess I’m not surprised, but was hopeful. Instead of making a fuss/scene, when I just picked up my fresh turkey, I thought that my 14.25 lb turkey seemed a bit small/light. Yet, i schlepped it home on the subway. For kicks, I weighed it on our digital scale when i got home, in my westside market bag. The photo shows the weight of the bird, which includes your packaging - wax paper, plastic bag, paper bag and a plastic bag to carry it out. We put all of that into my westside market canvas/tote bag. Here are the results (photo attached). I’m sure it will taste good/fresh, but the taste in my mouth now from being duped doesn’t sit well with me. You owe me one! Ethan Silverman

The correct gefilte fish and really no need to wait for an occasion, just get it. Really healthy too, so a plus.

This past weekend some friends of mine came in to your shop to get chicken and steaks for me (kosher) who was their guest in Shelter Island. Their name was Ziff and they got fabulous steaks which were grilled over the weekend. It was their first kosher butcher experience and I sent them to you knowing you're the best.
Thank you for the two fabulous steaks! Alan Zwiebel

Beautiful meat, with exceptional, old-fashioned personal service. No extra charge to pound your cutlets or to pack your chopped meat in doubles. Tell them exactly what you are looking for and be delighted by how well they help.

I enjoy so many of their foods—they take me back to my childhood. Their own challah is the very best! Prepared soups are also excellent. And don’t miss the BBQ turkey drumstick!

I find Fischer Brothers and Leslie to have excellent quality meat, and fantastic prepared foods. Best split pea and chicken soup as well.

Not sure how this place has only 3.6 stars ,but the place is very clean and meat is always fresh. The place never smells.
