This place offers everything necessary. The entire food lineup tastes great. Their customer interaction is well-executed. Simple dishes with good execution win me over. This place will match your taste.

This bar should be ashamed to have someone like this behind the counter. The Asian bartender looked us dead in the eye and said, “Are you in the right place?” — as if we didn’t belong there.
Let me be crystal clear: I’m Asian too. And to have another Asian person treat me like I was some kind of intruder was not just insulting — it was sickening. He wasn’t joking. He wasn’t confused. His tone dripped with contempt and superiority, like he thought he was above us.
That’s not attitude — that’s racism. The kind that hides behind a fake smirk and thinks no one will call it out.
He publicly humiliated us, made assumptions based on race, and made it painfully clear that we were not welcome.
The hypocrisy of watching a fellow Asian openly discriminate against another Asian is beyond pathetic. It’s self-hatred and ignorance at its peak.
The management clearly doesn’t care who they hire or how customers are treated. If they allow this kind of behavior to continue, they are complicit.
This wasn’t just “bad service.” It was overt racism, verbal harassment, and complete lack of humanity.
If you’re Asian — or frankly anyone who values dignity — do not step foot in this place. It’s hostile, toxic, and run by people who think it’s acceptable to humiliate customers because of how they look.
This isn’t just a bad bar — it’s a stain on the city.

I owe these men everything- they stayed past close just to wait for me to come get my purse that i left. They didn’t take anything out of it and one of them even walked me until i saw my friends who came for me. They are the best men. They deserve all the praise. Thank you so much to these men!

Ordered the lobster roll and there was rarely any lobster in it. Mostly half of bread bun and lots of French fries. The order took more than 30 min. It’s been the worst restaurant I’ve ever been in my whole life.

Fish Market isn’t just a bar—it’s a New York institution. Fourteen years ago, I’d finish long shifts tending bar nearby and find myself pining for this place, not just for the drinks but for the atmosphere and camaraderie. To this day, it remains one of the city’s most authentic nightlife staples.
The drinks are inexpensive without ever feeling cheap, the food is outstanding, and the value is unmatched. Order the combo platter and you’ll discover what regulars already know—the chicken fingers aren’t your standard fare. They’re perfectly pounded, breaded chicken cutlets, crafted with the kind of care that’s become a hallmark of Fish Market’s kitchen.
What sets Fish Market apart is its culture. Jeff, the owner, and his wonderful mother running the kitchen have built more than a bar—they’ve built a legacy. Their warmth and authenticity radiate through the food, the energy, and the people who gather here. It’s no surprise that after a decade and a half away, I returned to find the same contagious spirit, still vibrant and still drawing crowds.
As a former bartender, the highest praise I can give is this: Fish Market was the bar I wanted to go to after my own shifts. Fourteen years later, that feeling hasn’t changed. It’s still the place where service industry workers, locals, and visitors alike can unwind, connect, and feel part of something real.
If you want a true New York experience—where the food is worth every penny, the drinks flow easy, and the atmosphere is second to none—Fish Market is it.
