Possibly the kindest owner in all of east village working with his mom to make quality, home style Malaysian/canto food. It's lovely. The style of the restaurant is a true mix of cultures which was fun to see. You think you're walking into an American bar, but the menu has delicious satay, dumplings, and curries. Only in NYC :) Got the curry laksa and the nasi. Both were awesome and plenty of food for us 2. If you're debating on going, just do it!!!

Ordered via Uber eats. Food tastes similar to food back in Malaysia. Highly recommended. Most of the food is spicy as

Solid malaysian place - for New York . Note the smaller portions - but the food is correct

So happy that I found another solid Malaysian food place in the city!! As someone who visited Singapore and KL often growing up, I have been on the hunt for Malaysian food when I moved to NYC! The curry laksa here definitely hit the spot!! Although the soup isn't as heavy on the shrimp flavors, its garlic-y and coconut-y aroma is highlight of this soup! As soon as staff brought it out, you could smell the onion and curry immediately! The thin rice noodles are my favorite and love how they are al dente and never got soggy. The laska also featured stuffed eggplant and stuffed pepper (kinda like the 煎酿三宝) which I loved!! I think its stuffed with pork/shrimp and goes so well with the curry. The dish also featured a good amount of tofu puffs, bean sprouts, and bean curd sheets. The beef rendang is typically my other go-to. The version here was a little different but still delicious! Instead of chunks of meat, their beef was more shredded/pulled. The rendang base featured kaffir lime leaves which offered a fresh contrasting flavor to the spices/curry (more than what typical lemongrass would do). The spicy chicken and green bean was pretty standard. The sting beans were crispy and chicken tender. The sauce was a little more generic like a stir fry but I did appreciate the sesame oil and chili oil. They do have rotating specials but didn't get a chance to try. The restaurant itself only had moderate amount of tables but they do have some bar seating. Our server was really nice but maybe a little too attentive. Overall loved the familiar but also new flavors and definitely see myself coming back!

Really great Malaysian food - the rendang, laksa, and chicken curry all taste great and authentic. The restaurant itself is strange, more of a sports bar vibe, but the food more than makes up for it.

Food was amazing, consistently a great experience. Staff was super friendly and the owner came by to say hello. Both locations are great, but EV location and calm and clean.

First visit here on a Sunday night. The place was completely empty. I ordered the curry laksa, my favorite soup, for $24.83. The portion size leaves a lot to be desired for that price. The soup is very salty & oily. And the spice level was too high for my taste. I didn't find the soup to be enjoyable at all. The chunks of eggplant are thin and overcooked rather than thick & juicy. There's supposed to be fish in here, but I couldn't make out what kind of fish because it was cut in thin strips that were slimy on one side & crispy on the other? I'm sorry to say I didn't enjoy this at all. The lady who took my order was friendly & nice, but the laksa was overpriced & not to my liking.

I asked for recommendations and both dishes came out horrible. The "yummy noodles" is overly spicy with no flavor, pork belly pot contains few slices of pure fat and greased covered bok choy.

The food is flavorful and delicious! The crispy rice is really crispy, and the chicken curry has a wonderful mix of spices. It styles as a sports bar and having Malaysian food available is definitely unique.

Legit Malaysian food here best rendang and laksa in the city. Added I also tried the curry chicken and char Kway teow and being Malaysian this is DEFINITELY the best, most authentic Malaysian hawker style food I’ve had in NYC. Wok hei on CKT is excellent. The flavors of the rendang are mind blowing and tender and the curry chicken has the depth and intensity you’d expect a great curry chicken to have. It’s a dive bar which happens to serve the best Malaysian food in NYC and kitchen is open till 1040pm for last orders. My only thing - I wish the servings would be bigger cuz it’s just so delicious… you gotta order two dishes if you have an appetite.
